tiger woods can drive a golf ball further than i can with a putter. that doesn't make it the best type of golf club to use.

Best

-Slim: Logitech Ultra X; Logitech Illuminated is pretty solid too.

-"Bulky": Pmuch anything that doesnt have membrane switches which are all pretty awful to play on, but if your poor ass cant fork out a little cash for a decent keyboard then I guess this type will do once you get used to it. Mechanical keyboards are worth the investment though.

*Notable mention: Kensington Slimtype (original version) for best keytaps.

Worst

Anything made by Razer

p much this

if you buy a razer keyboard, you are taking a gamble that it will last a decent amount of time (read: get something more reliable)

cm storm quickfire stealth/rapid (same thing but with different keycaps) with browns. i feel that the bump is way too little and just gets in the way when i'm vibrating/going fast. I tried a filco with reds once and i prefer those over browns tbh

my friend gave me his old steelseries 6gv2 and though the spring on the blacks is too heavy, i find it easier to play on compared to browns.

Going to make a serious post here, and all of the haters can go ahead and say I'm wrong:

If you happen to be really young and rely on your parents to get you things, or know that you can't get your hands on something expensive, go for the Logitech K120 -- it is very inexpensive. The cons of using the keyboard are that because it is rubber dome, it requires a pretty high actuation force. This can be considered a pro for the sake of training and stamina -- I used a K120 for years and now that I'm on an onboard scissor-switch on my new laptop, keeping up with high speeds/long bouts of jumpstreaming is -really- easy.

The better thing about it is that it is surprisingly good at preventing splitting. I posted this image in the official keyboards thread that Plan_Bsk81127 made, but I really do think that the image speaks for itself:

Pretty heavy split-resistance...

Crosspost from that thread:
Quote:
Pros:
- Stock keyboards that I have used in the past have a very clunky feel on releasing, such so that it sounds like you're tapping two different keys every time you press and release one key -- the K120 carries a very light recoil sound and won't distract you during play.
- You will rarely fall victim to splits, unless they truly were your fault. Here's some proof via FFR's anti-cheat. Hard to beat that.
- Surprisingly durable keyboard, at least for me.
- Most common setups are supported without any ghosting/input issues.
- Almost never drops taps; because of this and all of the other things above, I actually managed to get a perfect score on an 88 (AAA'd Slashmaid [Instrumental] on the K120, as well as 3g on Husigi Usagi). (Update: I actually AAA'd Extratone Pirates (Drunk Optimus Remix) on this keyboard about two months ago, and Slashmaid is now an 89, so...)

Cons:
- Keyboard slides like no other if not put on a proper surface.
- Very slight but consistent delay in input, so you will have to hit a touch earlier or use a later offset.
- Takes a touch more force than you might be used to, although some can see this as a pro for the purpose of stamina training.

For the price, it certainly is worth while to try, especially if you're limited on funds.
Additional pros:
- K120 is fantastic for index -- the arrow keys are large, and you can actually trigger all four keys (I have no idea HOW this is possible on rubber-dome, I'm pretty sure this is one of a stupid rare bunch that can do this).
- Because the arrow keys are large, it is also ideal for high-level one-handed play.

Waiting on the release of the Feenix Autore. I'm on the official pre-order list so I should be getting one in the next month or so.

all I can say is I bought a k120 and right out of the box I was playing german dump packs and it didn't register quads. boom it lives in my closet. but maybe I just got a defective one who knows.

personally though I cant use anything that isn't bulky and for whatever reason I have a history of getting windows 98 kbs from the thrift store that have no model or brand on them what so ever but this one is an NMB kb which I've never heard of till I owned this.

edit: not going to lie, that feenix looks mad sexy

It most certainly does register quads, and on multiple setups as well. It might have been a particular setup issue... I have no idea.
