4 Finger question
I have this last question then I'm set for playing 4-finger.
When playing songs, does anybody switch their fingers to different keys during the song? My Left Middle Finger, stays on the left arrow. My Right Middle Finger, stays on the right arrow. Normally, my Left Index Finger, is on the up arrow. And, my Right Index Finger, is on the down arrow. During songs, I switch my index fingers to the other key, should I be doing this? Do any of you amazing 4 finger players do this? (Reach, Nima, justaguy, aperson) |

RE: 4 Finger question
Ok, I got that then, and I saw Nima's vids, I noticed he doesn't use the arrow keys.
Which keys do you all use? |

I switch from 2 hands 4 fingers to 2 indexes during up/right trills or wahtever you call them because it's really hard to hit with your middle and ring fingers fast consecutively :O. But then again, I suck.

are you on crack... I use the arrow keys on EVERY song... The only reason I didn't on blur is I mash quads and sometimes they don't register well on arrows. You obviously didn't watch more than 1 vid or are blind.
And yes I move my fingers around during HARD songs only like reality and neoclassical on fast trills.

I use Z=left, X=down, .=up, key to the right of that=right. For me it would be /.
And yes, people who use the arrow keys somtimes swicth to index for fast trills. |

Yea, I'll never have a problem with trills since I've been an index player for so long.

arrows are by far the best... spread setup has disadvantages

Nah. Arrows aren't the best. Numlock has to be off and it's just annoying sometimes. Also, it really screws up your wrist eventually.
All you need to do is find a key setup that you like AND is able to register all 4 at once. Try 4-at once, try holding 3 and hitting one (all 4 ways), try holding 2 and hitting 2 (all 6 ways), and try holding one and hitting 3 (all 4 ways). If they all work, you're good. You can test it out before a song begins. You can see the stationary arrows animate, right? That's how I test it at least. I'm using AS,. ~Squeek |

i would know what I'm talking about... There are things that a spread setup can't do. Either arrows or 4586 on numpad as you need to move your fingers around to do fast trills which spread limits

I need to do some experiments with spreading fingers and arrows keys. The right up down left, and right down up left I can't do on spread. Never tried them on the arrow keys, I can do trills just fine on both.

I was just wondering where Nima's vids are. I've been out for a bit.
