My attempt at a Majora's Mask world record. (Goal is 1:42:xx or lower.)
So I've actually been working on this speed-run for a while, just haven't been able to record until a few days ago.
So a little info about this run: 1.This is a "segmented" run, meaning I save at certain points so that I can optimize this run and use tricks I normally wouldn't if I were to do this in one whole sitting. (Known as Single Segment.) 2.This run WILL use glitches such as ISG (Infinite Sword Glitch) and Hovering. (These are the two most abused glitches in this run.) 3.This is being run on the Wii VC (Virtual Console) version of the game, though all these tricks and glitches I'll be using are possible on any other version of the game. 4.Once it is completed I'll be submitting this run to SDA (Speed Demos Archive) 5.I'm uploading each completed segment to Youtube so that you guys can see each segment as soon as I encode it. Goal time: Sub 1:43:00 Total time so far: 00:00:00 Last edited by playe; 05-20-2012 at 08:39 PM.. Reason: Re-doing run |

Well, the record for a single segment IIRC is 1:50: xx or somewhere around there, so I should hope that a segmented run would be quite faster.

The single segment record is 1:49:33 SDA timing (RTA timing it's 1:52:55.) so yeah this run will definitely be faster. (I'm using a slightly different route that skips adult wallet which saves about 30 seconds anyways.)

This should be interesting, I'll be sure to keep up with this
I used to be into speed running as well. I was working on a single segment Mega Man X2 run for the longest time, and my best recorded time was on VHS at around 0:39x collecting everything (including the hidden shoryuken). But good luck to you, I hope you do beat the old record and it gets on there. That'd be an accomplishment |

Okay got a time of 10:14 for segment 2 but I'm going to see if I can lower that time a bit more. (Whole bunch of blue boxes and a couple of >.< worthy mistakes.)

The Lion King run had a few mistakes, you should try to sup his time

Re: My attempt at a Majora's Mask world record. (Goal is 1:42:xx or lower.)
Okay bit of a update but while doing some RTA (Real Time Attack or Single Segment with Resets) attempts the last couple weeks (And getting sub 2:30 ) I've decided to re-do my first segment because salesman cutscene skip was done SO BADLY.
As a result I'm taking down my current segment off of youtube and I'll upload the better, more optimised segment when I get it done and encoded. |
