This would be pretty cool I think. Maybe add a field to give more credits if it was really helpful. I am assuming that the tips come out of our own credits.

Gives an incentive to give good posts. We probably should do more 1day bans for people begging for credits to balance.

Who gives a shit about "karma". If I wanted karma I'd go FC Planet KARMA.

It lets posters know who the more respected posters are, and who's to be trusted. Five credits is absolutely nothing. That's like the difference between someone doing something for you for free, and them doing it for you in exchange for 1/5th of a penny.

+1 support. If the credits thing goes with it, then obviously it would take the credits from your own pool instead of creating the credits. Maybe make it so that only Veterans can give/take karma.

Yeah there would need to be something to prevent people from using a bunch of alts to up their own "karma".

should be 5, 25, 50. A fill in the amount type deal would cause too many problems IMO. If you really want to tip someone that bad to give them over 50 credits, there's always the FFR Shop.

It's a way to keep people from creating new accounts just to up their own karma. Nice try, though.

At first I thought this tip system would be related to in-game files. If you like a particular file in-game, you can tip it and the tip would be applied to whoever stepped that file, but just as a tally on their profile. Someone like bmah, with his many files in game, could have a bunch of tips, whereas my single file would accumulate far fewer of them. Perhaps an achievement token would be integrated with the tips, or it could give you some random site bonus, or it could just expand the size of your internet genitals.

As for tipping posts, it seems too similar to liking something on Facebook. I think FFR profiles are enough of a similarity to that godawful abomination.

The requirements to be able to tip people would be more than just the time you've been on the site. We'll look at possibilities.
