double step or rotate on spins
i have know to rotate on spins on easier, less tricky step charts. but lately as i play the paranoia'a and trip machines, im finding it better to just double step those bastard spins since there are so many of them and even if you do rotate, it leaves you in an awkward position for the next steps.
what do you "pro" ddr players do? |

Re: double step or rotate on spins
Spinner is easyer if u pracitce t spinning itself. Also you have to have a fair understanding on the steps coming up so you don't mess up after the spin. If its your first time doing a song and u see a spin look at the arrows below it and quickly remember them.

Re: double step or rotate on spins
I personally have never successfully done a spin, and probably will never learn them.
I cannot see how it could EVER be easier than doublestepping, at least personally. Doublestepping isn't that hard ><

Re: double step or rotate on spins
some good songs to do spins on: Paranoia eternal, end of the century, brilliant 2 u OG mix oni, A oni, Frozen ray, Healing vision angelic mix I think daikenkai oni too but not quite sure.
Its important to know how to do both really because when you learn to spin it makes any other patterns like just regular crossovers seem way easier. But I would Never think about doing a full spin in a tournament or something and PAing while you spin is incredibly hard so just practice both. |

Re: double step or rotate on spins
well then what is a spin cause i have always thought they were called spins, would you call a 426 a half crossver then cause i thought a full crossover was a 5 step process, well now that we got that cleared up, replace the spins with crossovers in the first post i made

Re: double step or rotate on spins
uh A spin is when you like spin your whole body around
A crossover is just when your right foot is on the left pad or vice versa. |

Re: double step or rotate on spins
Something like this [R-right, L-left]: L-4, R-8, L-6, R-2, and you spin your body around as you do that.

Re: double step or rotate on spins
oh, well then fuk spins they can kiss my mixed ass. i guess i was talkin about crossovers like on the song breakdown where there is 426 combos. i find it better to double step some of those types of combos rather than crossing over do to the fact that sometimes they can trip you up like in the song trip machine..................how ironic

Re: double step or rotate on spins
"Partial spins" (i.e. 4268624) aren't too bad for not double stepping... I never have done a full spin though. :P
What're those things actually called? |

Re: double step or rotate on spins
if it has four arrows that go in a circle, it's a spin.
The only "spin" I don't doublestep on is one of the ones in Break Down, because I'm already in crossover position when it comes.

Re: double step or rotate on spins
Oh, the Theme From Enter The Dragon (notorious mix) That one has spins for most of the song to practice on, but then you start getting dizzy, fall over, and hit the coffee table in the living room. That really hurt my chest.

Re: double step or rotate on spins
Spins are not easier. They are just more fun.
Personally I spin easy **** that I can spin, like ecstasy, dxy, hysteria 2001 or w/e. Sometimes I do the spins in HVAM but i **** half those up. :{ |

Re: double step or rotate on spins
Occasionally spins are better. Generally it's better just to double-step.
As for crossovers, I usually prefer those over double-stepping. A fun crossover song is Can't Stop Fallin' in Love (Speed Mix) [DDR Ultramix] |
