Default techno/trance/ambient/IDM/chillstyle thread

ITT post your favorite techno/trance/ambient/IDM/dance/electronica/chillstyle/anything that pretty much fits this general set of genres

a few to start

Andain - Turn Up The Sound (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)

Arc Feat Kate Miles - Currents (Original Mix)

^better in HD. I like the chorus of this one

Brian Eno - An ending(ascent)(leama&moor remix)

A remix of one of my favorite ambient tracks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKw5mbcE7VY which is super relaxing (and possibly melancholy)

Dash Berlin - Waiting (feat. Emma Hewitt)

Great chorus, nice echoey vocals

Gareth Emery feat. Lucy Saunders - Sanctuary (Club Mix)

catchy

Conjure One - Center Of The Sun (Feat. Poe)

An awesome remix of this here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9XkdAB2FA4

lio - Smooth airbase remix

I think mnnicol showed me this one, can't remember

Above & Beyond feat. Richard Bedford "Sun & Moon"

Oh bby

Sometimes you might be in the mood for something hard, other times something relaxing.

If everyone categorized their songs by genre when dealing with such a broad range of electronic music it would be that much more convenient

Well, Reincarnate asked for IDM. And the range of IDM is pretty wide soooo...

A solid record to listen to imo probably has to be the whole album This Binary Universe by BT.

Some of the best:

Yeah Gridlock's songs have that metallic sound thing in them, definitely amazing listens.

Antinomie - So Hard [aka FFR Special Mix back in the day when the tutorial was available]
Always will be a classic to me. This legacy song is FFR history.

Martyn Laight & Neil Davidge - Take Me Higher
This was a song I heard way back in the day when I was a little kid. Same with Technotrance, Lucky Dancer, Infinity, House of Toys, and Lovedance. These have a huge nostalgic factor to me and are really good listens too!

Paul Shaw & Dave Rogers - Lucky Dancer
The first time I heard this song it was put down as "Dance #1". I can see it as a beginner's song for a dance game, haha.

Paul Shaw & Dave Rogers - Technotrance
Really chill song. Definitely repetitive, but this is usually good for when I'm not being distracted heavily by music doing homework or something.

Paul Shaw & Dave Rogers - Lovedance
Pretty unorthodox approach at dance music, makes the song title interesting in how this is rather creepy for a "love" dance.

John Prior - Infinity
First minute is a bit slow, but at 1:20 it gets interesting. Surprise ending!

John Prior - House of Toys
I don't get some of these song titles, lol

John Prior - Everything's OK
Not sure if this fits, but definitely John Prior's best song in my opinion and it's amazing chill.

Abstractology - Tsiklon-3
I feel like I'm in outer space. However 5:06 if your volume is up it's definitely a shocker.

Anyone who knows me will not be suprised with my first pic. Still definitely in my top songs since the first time hearing it.

Leraine by Secede

Sky Trees by Solar Fields

Analogue Bubblebath 5 (untitled 1) - Aphex Twin

An unreleased song that I REALLY dig, after it picks up that is. One of my favourites by Aphex Twin, i figured it hasn't been heard much though. So here ya go.

Leave it - The Field

A very repetative song. If you have a short attention span this is probably more well suited for you, as it is for me. After the 3 minute mark when the REAL chorus picks up, that kind of chilltastic dancey vibe, and just repeating that awesome sound just keeps me sucked in.

Firefly - Deepchord

Same as above except slightly less dancy. More chill, restaurant type atmosphere. I dunno why but it really sucks me in. To each their own, but it really pulls me in~ groovy.

100 Years Ago / Sea of Pulses - Tim Hecker

Though the sounds are kind of abstract, I think the names of the two songs here really imply the feeling I get from listening to them. The first 3:30 sounds like I'm listening to an old photo from the 1800s era, the second one just reminds me of being out on some corrupted sea, just a neat atmosphere.

Darkest Before Dawn - Steve Roach

One of my favourite ambient pieces, HIGHLY recommended to listen when laying down in bed/trying to sleep. It does some funny things as you drift off-- the sounds and melody changes are verrry subtle making it easy to get the sounds pulled away from you as you try to sleep. It eventually sort of makes a "hollow" feeling as you really get sleepy, but it'll be different for everyone. Maybe try it. I like it. It's helped me tons with sleep issues.

I'll stop myself there :P

oh hey, I wanted to make this thread after wwpl mentioned it but oops

to people posting the harder style of idm, you should definitely look into the lighter stuff. harder styles of idm can even be classified as entirely different genres (flashcore, glitch, breakcore, power electronics, etc).

with that said, here are some of my favorite idm tracks

Clark - Com Touch
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nq4M7QBxt4

Amon Tobin - Kitty Cat (don't let the lyrics fool you, the amount of sound design put into this track (and the album as a whole) is fucking phenomenal)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZLoGS85wB8
ps the girl singing... is actually Amon Tobin himself

Richard Devine - Timach
After how abrasive Cautella can be, Timach is a very welcomed change.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4RjJnkU674

Veqtor - Mosaic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tlVswhcbsQ

Also, Autechre's entire discography.

and now for ambient tracks

Deaf Center - Stone Beacon
Very dark and brooding.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdubFnnzIQw

Belong - October Language
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showpost.php?p=3684995&postcount=18

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCVwphpw7YE

36 - Saphron
A bit of a treat, randomly found him on bandcamp and now I own three of his albums, one of which I have on CD and vinyl.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3qfwadgMkE

Spectral Mystics - Rebirth
This entire album is awesome.
http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Sp...stics/Rebirth/

also spenner, what do you see when you listen to beginningless time from rebirth? I'm interested to know if it's even remotely close to what I personally see
