Re: TWG CLXV - The Wine In Front Of Me - Game Thread
I should have a better opinion on Yoshl and roundbox now that they're here BUT I DON'T
the only thing that stood out to me and this is pretty thin but I thought Yoshl's read on Freezin was like more town than not because it had like, the perfect amount of annoyance mixed with reluctance in the read. I think wolf Yoshl could find that balance, but it happens a lot less often than town Yoshl finding that balance that read might make no sense but idc

What do you think of inD being wolfread by basically everyone? Is that a determinant in your read of him?

I didn't realize shado also used arbitrary percentages in his reads as well. also not a fan of it as there's no need to quantify confidence |

Stop hating on percentages they're real numbers theoretically

We already attempt to quantify confidence arbitrarily using flawed, less precise measures. We list people by scumminess and use words like LOCK, read, lean, slight, strong, etc.. Listing people is flawed because there could be a huge gap in how scummy you think two people are, but their names being next to each other would indicate only that you think that's the order in which they should be lynched. YoshL ran into this problem earlier when he the me as 2nd scummiest (still find that weird but w/e). I asked him why, he said everyone but the bottom name was actually either null or townread. Using words like read/lean, strong/slight is flawd because you end up with several people under the same category, some of whom you're more sure of than others, and the requirement of fitting everyone in one of those boxes/labels causes pressure to place people in places "because that's where they fit best". Percentages, while arbitrary, at least clearly show how you feel about each player, and how confident you are. Where, brfore, you might say "null, slight scum", you could now say "55% wolf" Where before you could get away with iffy read placements and just "null", you now get truly individualized reads and can indicate extremely slight differences between players. TLR what we're doing now is just as arbitrary, and less accurate. EVERYONE SHOULD USE PERCENTAGES!
