this is what all year-+-of-experience-keyboard-players do, what about those with less than a year experience?

well the pack is not for beginners so i would think most of everyone will be able to play all the files in the pack. you can still find what number of feet is your own personal comfort zone if you don't like to play too hard files, no matter what system is being used.

oh oops sorry. i think many don't keep up with what's going on with the different foot ratings systems and 10+ being keyboard files is something everyone recognizes. i was wrong about when nps+ff was first adopted, but this pack is still more consistent with the older packs and i would still like to use 10+ to represent that

well let's say you bump my argument up to comparing an 9-footer with a 6-footer then. the 6-footer could be a superunique and awesome simfile while the 9-footer that was AAA'd had easy 16th jumpstream and made the 6-footer file overlooked.

yes i agree, that's what i ended up thinking as well when considering the different options. so i thought i might as well use 10+ because of machine score, recognizably and consistency with the previous odipacks.

ps patashu finish a file fast!!!!

xoon 5 still used the chancellor scale

the first 4key implementation of nps+ff was in fact LCP3 and the FFR Season packs that followed afterwards, although my system isn't all that accurate because I heavily fudged stuff up/down to make up for the column space and density compared to 6key

Probably the biggest reason why I prefer the 10+ scale is the fact that I peek at my score lots during sightreads to judge how far into the song I am tbh. After I know the file well, I could care less if it's rated under a 10, although what Glove says about lower difficulties being unattractive is true (for experienced stepmaniers anyways so w/e). It would make intuitive sense to rate from 1-10 within a pack but what about files outside of the pack that are easier than 1s? You run into the problem people seem to have when buying clothes since size X at one store is not necessarily size X in another (which is why an objective scale would be so nice).

The disadvantage of 10+ for experienced stepmaniers is that difficulties at that stage are almost pointless to check (I barely ever look at difficulty ratings for files anymore).

For the sake of this pack (since it is predominantly not for beginners) I would side with the 10+ scale. If you're going to make packs that cater to new players though I definitely think 1-10 is more appropriate.

I'm fine with the 10+ scale yeah since it's more catered to people with more experience (which in turn would be people from the ODI era and such, so they'd be used to seeing high difficulties to begin with). Even then I'm pretty sure with the NPS+FF scale applied most if not ALL the files would be at 10+ so the "gay machine score" issue is irrelevant haha.

I think a 6 14 should be a 7 9 to the 3 3 3 while 8 goes 2 in order to notify the differences between 5 and 0

same, and i'd rather have the new scale cause it's actually somewhat accurate. The old scale made absolutely no sense to me.

there's arguments for both systems and I'll be fine with whatever you guys use. it wasn't like GLoVe wasn't intending for this pack to be some kind of starter pack for beginners. we can always use the NPS scale in the future.

yeah i have nothing against the nps+ff system, it's a good way to do it as well. but for this pack i'd rather use the 10+.

supercool and superfun. a few minor things for you to fix, the 32nds leading into the freezes in the beginning was gay, just rearrange it so that it doesn't become a minijack like that. the part in the very end was one long copy-paste of the same early part, just mix up the patterns but try to maintain pitch-relevancy and good playability, shouldn't be too hard. will be accepted after revision

jordan 13
accepted. hahaha wow, that was pretty much exactly what i expected . cool file, good job maintaining a good flow even though it's mostly just a big color note fest.

serotonin 2008
it's too simple and boring with just the common 16ths rhythms for most of the file while being long at the same time. it just relies on being heavily layered to become challenging at all and when the rhythms repeats that much it gets reeeally tiresome to play. when i got to the middle part with the 32nds and minijacks i was like "ok cool i can just tell him to cut most of the beginning out when it gets better now and it could be accepted". but then i got to the end where i was hoping for a sick climax, and instead got the same repeatetive 16th rhythms as in the beginning for forever.

lemme take you to the beach (revision)
nice job cutting the more eventful parts together. you're also doing a good job with pretty accurate stepping and good patterns that represent the sounds well. unfortunately this still ends up being a bit too simple and easy for this pack. i hope you have time to get a harder file done for the pack since i can tell you have potential!
