RATO, Revolutionary Etude, and Death Piano will be re-adjusted so don't worry about those. Also, making 8/8's or 9/9's adjusted so that only a certain number of players can achieve it is a bit biased seeing that people will just continue to get better and more will be able to get within the 8/8 and 9/9 range. Hell, there's a lot more people now that can get these requirements. We have better ways of figuring out what the requirements should be for each file.

EDIT: FOTBB and Caprice are fine as they are.

Nah. I'm rank 9 on Death Piano with and I still have 8/9 on it.
Only 5 people have 9/9 on Death Piano. That seems about right.

The tier points are fine as they are now - we need more additions though. A few more 8s and 9s maybe? Possibly downgrading some 7s to 6s and adding more 7s.

I meant that as a general range. Requirements should be adjusted according to the song (hence why some requirements are 1 or fewer instead of AAA for the max tier points possible, etc). Some files will have more 9/9s achieved than others, just like any other requirement.

I'm still just really sketchy about the two 13s because everyone is making the file a lot harder than it should be and getting ridiculously high PA by too much mashing where it's not needed, while the requirements for other files are much more strict. The 7/7 on FOTBB has only around 30? achieved while the 8/8 on Adventures of Lolo has 35, etc.

That would be correct for the most part

EDIT: Also, the difficultly of patterns inside the simfile also plays a big role as well.

How about backgrounds too? That is a big reason why some files have much less AAA's than they should have.

That is true but unfortunately, we can't do anything about that until the staff members decide to remove them off the game. If they happen to remove the backgrounds in the future then we will re-adjust the requirements for each file that had those backgrounds accordingly.

Removing the backgrounds isn't all that tough (just need to decompile the swf into fla and remove the background, then re-export the swf) but you'd need write access to the song folder.

It's not about it being tough to do, Synth has a thing about preserving everything. He was very reluctant to fix avmisses because of this, but I guess there was just too much overwhelming attitudes towards doing it.

Ah yeah that's right -- same reason he didn't want to re-skin the bluenote files. Preserving early-FFR history and all that.

Besides, I kinda agree with that logic where those files are concerned.

An option to toggle backgrounds on/off like the ones showing accuracy sounds more like the way to compromise so you can still show backgrounds for nostalgia's sake and put them off for gameplay but..

The real question is more likely to be how does Synthlight wants FFR to be in the future? I mean, what's the plan after getting this site up again?
