Twist Mason - If alive day 4, learns the name of the Twist Wolf

Re: jtwg lvii host signups
rzr's game seems extremely rigged in favor of the wolves. For starters, the human/blue to wolf ratio is 3:1, rather than the usual 4:1, which is a pretty big disadvantage. Then you throw in the useless cursed human that really can only serve as a safety lynch if the humans had no leads, which essentially lowers the ratio to 11:4, or 2.75:1.
Even if the Twist Mason manages to get by the 1/4 chance he gets randomly wolved before his power activates, it would be for nothing, as night 4 comes before day 4. The wolf would learn the name of the mason and tell his buddies and then he'd die. Guarding the Twist Mason is a good idea in theory, but at what cost? The seer? Would you take the guaranteed wolf in exchange for the shot at killing all four? The way I see it, the Twist Mason screws over the normal blue alliance that most players aim for in any TWG that has these roles, which makes the humans sitting ducks unless they can figure out the wolves the standard way, which at this level, doesn't seem likely. (Unless the entire game is full of first timers.) My suggestion is to remove the Twist wolf, make the mason know who the guardian is but not visa versa, and throw out the cursed human, or at least make him live longer. Staying with BDN's game for now. Edit: Nothing against you rzr, but did you run that by Manti for balance check? That's what I usually do when I have a game idea.

Re: jtwg lvii host signups
Also, 16 players will net you a lot of inactivity, rzr. Look at the last game we just finished, which was of a similar size.
BDN's game is more balanced. The random blues is a good way to force a change in strategy. Like he said, it forces the humans to have to catch the wolves for themselves, but also doesn't just desert them with no lifelines or help. It'd be nice to see a game with a psychic in it for a change, as opposed to the Seer/Guardian combo, which seems stale to me.

Re: jtwg lvii host signups
I thought the Twist roles were kind of cool, but I did just pull that straight outta my ass. =p I never check with Manti on balance, people usually check with me, lol. Perhaps... removing the cursed human. But, that still leaves a 4:1 ratio, which is typical and good. Or, keeping it and allowing the Twist Mason to know the name of the Guard. Or, better yet, removing the Cursed Human, and allowing the Twist Mason to know the name of, at random, the Seer or Guardian, but not knowing which. This could be interesting...
In regards to inactivity, I'm not worried. I never allow my games to become inactive fests. I start replacing people quickly and handing out constant reminders. |

Re: jtwg lvii host signups
Even though I'd like to vote, I know that I won't be able to play in the next game or two because my Christmastime internet accessability is questionable. But I think that a smaller game might be better, depending on how the TWG is going to go too. In which case, I'm supporting BDN's game.

I agree and disagree.
Pills definitely do NOT make you who you are. You are DEFINITELY NOT more yourself when you are under the influence. That being said "i was on drugs" is a completely retarded excuse for dumb posting.
