Profile Guide Suggestion
I would like to request a profile guide, if anyone is wiiling to make one. Call me an idiot, but it takes me forever to figure things out on this forum, since it's very different than others. I want to make a good profile too, mine has stayed plain. Would anyone (who can write a decent guide) be willing to make a guide to creating a good profile? Or am I just an idiot for not knowing how to work FFR?
Answer yes to both and I'll be happy. |

Re: Profile Guide Suggestion
Making a good profile is very difficult, especially if you aren't proficient in an image-editing program.
Many of the great profile artists use Photoshop and they spend countless hours trying to make everything right. I can however tell you a few of the basics: New layout: Banner: ??? Background: - dimensions: 990 by ? (? is as far as you need without making it repeat) Old profile Banner: - dimensions 960x200 - dimensions: 960 by ? (same as above) - while some people say 960, I've found that it gets slightly cut off at that, I used something like 949 or whatnot. Tools: GIMP or Photoshop. Both will allow you to cut/crop images, use transparencies, etc. Photoshop has more capabilities with brushes and such. When making a profile, many people will opt out of making a banner, and will instead let the background have all of the images and artwork in the top 200 pixels, while having the banner be transparent. I have that uploaded on here. I have a decent understanding of making profiles, so if you have more questions, I can help out as best as I can. Last edited by TC_Halogen; 03-24-2011 at 04:47 AM.. |

Re: Profile Guide Suggestion
For some reason I knew you'd be the first person to post. I thought I saw some of the guides here posted by you, thanks for the advice.
I'm going to see what I can do and see if I run into any problems. If I do, I'll be sure to post here. I'm going to work on it later though, pulled an all nighter so going to bed soon lol I'm so much more productive at night... |
