Lowering Avg. Rank
What's a good technique to lower average rank? Lately I've just been AAA'ing 10 songs, then playing 5 or songs at the bottom of my level ranks.
What did you guys do to get to your current avg. rank? |

Re: Lowering Avg. Rank
Play songs you haven't played before, near the bottom of your levelranks.

Starting from the bottom of your level ranks and working your way up. It's how I did it, just takes patience.

Re: Lowering Avg. Rank
I quite literally would play songs in order from the bottom to the top of my level ranks. BUT, I would skip the FGO type songs because all I would do was mash for an FC. And because I did that, I have these horrendous looking scores in my level rank since I can't FC those songs with good PA. So the mash shit score stays. (Combo scoring ftw). But if you just want to improve the level rank because your FGO and FMO scores are just bad, go ahead, mash away.

Re: Lowering Avg. Rank
I want to improve my avg. rank cause they look terrible and don't reflect my skill at all. Plus I'm stupid lazy and really impatient lol.
At the rate I'm at, how long do you think it would take me to get under 1k avg? That's my real goal lol. |

Re: Lowering Avg. Rank
Priority number one is to play all the songs you have never played before, focusing on FC'ing the ones you are capable of snagging. That alone should put you under 1k.

Re: Lowering Avg. Rank
Lol what's with all of the 1-0-0-0-0-1 scores? And by the looks of it.. to go through each song would take a solid 2-3 weeks. But for an under 1K av rank, I'd give you a week and a half of solid whoring, since from what I can tell, you're not bad (Some 60+ rank songs AAAd).

Re: Lowering Avg. Rank
What I've done is go to the level ranks, reverse the display order (worst rank on top), and start playing songs from top to bottom. Play them one or two times just to get a score if you haven't played the song before, or attempt to AAA it if you feel you can.
Basically that's what I've done, since then I just look through the songs and I usually only play ones that I haven't AAA'd anymore. Kind of up to you how you get your own 'system' in place.

Play legacy and lower level songs, they're the ones that are played the most! XD

Re: Lowering Avg. Rank
Do what I did:
1) Play ALL the BNS and Synth songs. 2) play ALL the widget songs. 3) Start at the bottom and go up. 4) Playing the new songs aren't going to lower your av rank by much, if at all. 5) Goal is to FC the songs. Remember the level ranks are based on combo-scoring and not raw-scoring. 6) You're better off playing the easier songs since they have tons of plays on them. |

Re: Lowering Avg. Rank
when I used to work on my average rank, there was one thing that used to hold me back. if I came close to a AAA, I would keep playing that song until I got it. now I realize that's a pretty awful idea. playing the same chart over and over can give you crazy mindblocks. AAAs are also not a huge priority for lowering average rank; usually an FC will do the trick.
FFR has so many files now. playing everything seems daunting x_x |

AAA the really old files that you have to get a AAA on to be anything under rank 500

Re: Lowering Avg. Rank
Get rid of all the BNS charts then go from the bottom of the level ranks.

Re: Lowering Avg. Rank
Start with FCing the songs that have a ridiculous playcount. Legacy songs, long easy rock files, etc. these have a ridiculous impact on average rank if they're sitting as zero in your levelranks. One rock song for example did this:
