Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Is there a reason that Fibonacci Sequence wasn't reviewed? I felt it was the stronger of the two files I submitted. Also, looks like I'm going to have to co-op Science Party with someone because I'm a bit lost.
Overall, agree with most of the notes in retrospect. If someone could link me to an explanation of PR, that would help because I'm not sure I understand the descending/ascending issue. Would love to let someone with more experience take a look, hopefully I can keep the gist of the file. Would be excellent to get another worthy indie band into the game. Made most other corrections as noted regarding missing notes, bad jumps, etc. Last edited by Coolgamer; 12-5-2014 at 02:00 AM.. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]

Yeah, not all has been done from the July/August batch yet. I have a file in there waiting too. Not sure what the timeframe is for the next set.

pr is simply the concept of matching the arrows that you put to the changes in pitch/register from the instrument(s) that you're stepping to. so for eg if you were stepping a piano that went C-D-E-F (or do-re-mi-fa if you prefer), an example of a PR'd pattern would be 1234. higher pitches/registers towards the right. or if you had a repeating sound (from percussion or whatever), stepping all of those sounds along the same column. but follow within reason. imo pr should be followed only as much as the playability of a file is improved; it's a trade-off with music fidelity.

There are a number of pitch relevance concepts that can be applied, haha.
I really need to work on those videos that I wanted to make that give some insights on concepts of charting. |

However, that means that I'll have to go over the file again with a fine tooth comb. Also, one last thing. Are charts still tested with a c200 mod? I remember back when Tasselfoot was doing it he mentioned it. Otherwise, I might as well double the BPM on Fibonacci Sequence since it's stepped at around 94, if I recall correctly. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
This question doesn't make sense. Charts are not tested with any specific cmod, and doubling or changing the BPM in any way wouldn't affect anything related to a cmod.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Any judge that tests your chart on StepMania is going to use their own personal cmod, which will make the BPM you used irrelevant as far as how easy or hard it would make the chart to read (there's still a lesser, secondary issue about the BPM being correct not only in synchronization but not being erroneously halved, quartered, doubled, quadrupled, etc.).
I have no idea about files being "tested with the mod on" (I don't even know what you're referring to as far as where they were tested and for what), but all files are uploaded to FFR at a constant, fairly slow CMOD, with most experienced players using a speedmod multiplier of anywhere to 1.75x to 3x, and as far as I know it has always been that way. |

Those two things are exactly what I needed to know, thanks. The file should be good then.
