New reskin of the theme for 5.1

Changelog (2.0.0):
  • General
  • ● Major reskin of pretty much everything but ScreenGameplay.
  • ● Ghost Data support. By default, it will save after gameplay. Currently, it's only used for the pacemaker graph.
  • ● NestyPlayerOption is now used in place of PlayerOptions.
  • ● Use osu! style (old) as the default song preview mode. Because hearing the same 15 second loop sucks.
  • ● Leveling System / StepMania RPG -- Minus the roleplay part.

    Gameplay
  • ● Screen Filter, Lane Cover, and CB Highlights are now tied to the NewField. You can use perspective/scale mods and these options will align with the notefield accordingly.
  • ● 2nd bar of the PaceMaker graph will now show the score at a given time during gameplay for the highest saved score. (If the ghost data is available for that score).
  • ● Total number of ticks, and the duration of the ticks for the Error Bar can be set from Gameplay Options → Error Bar Options
  • ● Height of the Lane Cover can now be set from Gameplay Options → Lane Cover Options before entering gameplay.
  • ● Draw order/Layer of the Lane Cover can now be set from Gameplay Options → Lane Cover Options
  • ● Update rate and the number of vertices for the NPS graph can be set from Gameplay Options → NPS Display Options

StepMania 5.1 alpha 2 only as usual.

  • General
  • ● More detailed color preferences.
  • ● Changed the tweening for some elements.
  • ● Added more IIDX-esque cleartypes (Easy/Hard/EXH) that are based on life difficulty for scores where the ghost data is available.
    For scores that don't have any ghost data associated with them, It will assume life difficulty of 4.

    ScreenSelectMusic
  • ● Text under the banner image will now display the text correctly when a non-song item is selected.
  • ● Partial mouse support for navigating the music wheel.

    ScreenEvaluation
  • ● Changed the positioning for hold note judgments and mines hit.
  • ● Current music rate will be shown under the Life/Timing difficulties in a more obvious manner.
  • ● Display the full score string for non-widescreen aspect ratios.

CD title was moved rather recently. If it's not on the top right of the banner, it's above the background inside the simfiles tab.


(Also for those that downloaded 2.0.1 before this post, re-download because I screwed up the percentages for the mines hit in ScreenEvaluation.)

Sorry if this issue isn't theme-specific, but it has been bothering me for a while...

It seems that no matter what mods I have set up in the options, the mods displayed on the bottom-left of the game screen always stays the same.

For example, this screenshot says that my speed mod is C200, when I'm actually using C900:


This is on the newest build.

It's like that for SM5.1 because the option strings don't reflect the newfield settings at the moment.

So that includes things like: Speed mods, perspective mods, scroll direction, noteskin settings,etc.

Is there an easy way to fix up scoring to work with PIU? I noticed an issue today where any song with a lot of holds gets a hugely inflated score since the holds add to your combo every 8th note or something.

For example:


See how the red bar is going off the chart? And that's not even the end of the song. It only happens when playing the song for real though. Autoplay works fine for some reason. I know this theme is mainly meant for 4k, but it has a ton of features that I can't find in any of the PIU themes I've tried, so I really want to stick with it if possible.

EDIT: Is the 1.0 theme not supported anymore? I really don't like how bright and blocky this new one is =/ If there is a fix for this, it would be awesome if I could apply it to the 1.0 theme since I really don't want to use this newer one.

It's because of how the theme tracks scores separately from the engine and there's no way (at least ones that i'm aware of) that allows me to grab the total number of checkpoint judgments in a simfile. So the maximum score will be wrong. I might just use the engine score for PIU because of this.

I can still answer questions related to older releases. For the color scheme, you can still change it from the color configs menu. The Blockiness is kinda expected since the entire theme is just quads. (and is true for older releases as well)

Ah, damn. What does that mean for the theme in general? Is that gonna break anything? Or just not as accurate scoring or something?

you're probably on a older release then.
Open metrics.ini on some text editor and ctrl+f for [NoteField] and set the ShowBeatBars to false.
