I just started playing spread, and I have a few questions about it.
First of all,
How do you get used to playing spread? I have gotten a load of misses because it is a new style. Next, how is it better than any other two-handed style? Last, how does it help you more than any other style? |

Re: I just started playing spread, and I have a few questions about it.
It's good because it's only limited in a few ways and if you're good/fast enough you can do pretty much any pattern. It's not better in all cases though.
You say you're missing steps, why are you missing steps? Too slow or is a brain/hand connection issue? Either way just keep at it and you'll improve.

Play index if you want to be a pro at trills.

Quote:
1. You get used to playing spread by playing more spread. 2. No style is faster while still giving you good accuracy. 3. It's the easiest to learn and can hit just about any pattern no problem. The only drawbacks with spread that I can think of... 1. Long or fast one-handed trills with your non-dominant hand could be tough (especially when you're first starting) 2. Running Men patterns. After over a year of playing I still can't hit those consistently. |

Keep trying. You can't expect "omg awesome" results the moment you start something. You'll get used to it. =)

VAMPIRE_GURL!!!!
Stop double posting, unless they are two completely different things that both still have relevance to the thread. If there is no relevance...don't double post!!! There is an edit button...USE IT!!! And, no more text talk please! About your band, not many of us live in Texas, so we can't...and...THAT DOESN'T BELONG IS THIS THREAD OR THIS FORUM FOR THAT MATTER!!! And spread is the two-handed style played across the keyboard...that all you need to know? |

Re: I just started playing spread, and I have a few questions about it.
Songs I could FC and SDG with one hand, when I first switched to spread I was failing out of. You've got arrow to finger connections in your head that stop working properly when you switch styles. You should practice the feel of spread on songs you don't usually play, to pave over your internal connections.

it takes alot of practice, dont expect to be a lot better in just a few days
although after lots of practice, you should see your gaming skills get a SHlT load better |

Re: I just started playing spread, and I have a few questions about it.
it took me about a month or two to really get the feel of the "spread".
at first i hated it because, i couldn't even fc soul shift of levels like euphoria. just give it some time bro, play hard, and concentrate!!! i'm sure you will get the hang of it in no time!
