Summary of Tourney

There will be teams chosen at random from 4-5 people each. Each team will be competing against each other trying to get the most points.

In order to get points, you have to beat someone in MP on the leagacy engine and SS the results (with the puush program, SS should take 1-5 seconds. How to get this is explained below)

After the 2 hours of the tournament are done, I will collect all the information on who won and lost, and which team ended up with the most points.

Prizes will be given out to everyone and will be based on both individual and team performance. (think of it as a combination of two types of scoring)

The results should be up within a day or two showing how everyone did in the tournament.



Teams will be random, and I will not place you based on any requests I get

Team names will be need to be decided upon 2 days prior to the start with at least 50% of the members agreeing on it. If there is no concensus on a name, I will make one for your team.

This tournament requires a puush account. If you have one, please make a new one specifically for this tournament.




What it does is allows you to take screen shots and move onto the next game immediately without having to crop and get time stamps etc etc.

I will be requiring access to your account screen shots. Meaning that you should use a made-up email and a password that you haven't used before.

Something along the lines of Tournament12345@gmail.com (password): 543212345

After doing this in order to take a screenshot press ctrl+shift+3

On the results screen of every game, please take that screenshot.

If you have having problems with puush, ask if the person you're vsing also has problems.
If they don't, continue playing. If they do, then find someone else to play that isn't having problems.



This is how you get points if you win against someone. Breakdowns in each division are below.

If you wish to, you may play the same person the entire time without penalties, however you may not be able to go as fast as someone else who is switching up to find a match that gives even more points, or go for the lucky shot and beat a division higher than your own for a few extra points.

A TIE RESULTS IN NO POINTS GIVEN TO EITHER SIDE

D6 > D3 means that a D6 player beat a D3 player

D6 > D6 = 5 points
D6 > D5 = 3 points
D6 > D4 = 1 point
D6 > D3 = 0 points
D6 > D2 = 0 points
D6 > D1 = 0 points

D5 > D5 = 5 points

7:40 A D6 player beats a D4 player (1 points)

7:52 A D4 player beats a D3 player (2 points)
7:55 A D5 player beats a D5 player (4 points)
7:57 A D6 player beats a D4 player (0 points)
8:03 A D1 player beats a D1 player (4 points)

--- After 10 games, all points are 2 points less in value for the same song

8:13 A D4 player beats a D4 player (3 points)
8:25 A D4 player beats a D3 player (1 points)
8:37 A D5 player beats a D5 player (3 points)
8:45 A D3 player beats a D2 player (0 points)
8:49 A D1 player beats a D1 player (3 points)


--- After 15 games, all points are 3 points less in value for the same song

8:52 A D2 player beats a D5 player (8 points)
8:59 A D1 player beats a D3 player (6 points)

--- this effect goes on for every 5 games indefinitely

Strategies for the tournament:

Because of how this tournament is set up, there are a few different strategies that you could use to either make your team benefit, or yourself.
The prizes are all individual, however just because a team has more people doesn't mean that they'll win.

Try to only play people on a team with less people as opposed to a team with a lot of people.

Make players that are generally winning games play really long songs

Tire out some players by making them play overly aggressive songs until they aren't able to score as well on average until they recover

Play short songs in the beginning and then switch to less played songs in the end.

Try to keep playing with a perseon that can almost beat you, but never does.

Make it seem like you suck at first, then beat the other person a bunch of times after that

Avoid people who take a while to choose songs

Unless you're newer than a month, you have plenty of time to get a little bit better and do well.

Besides it's both team and individually based, and meant for all players to have a decent chance

I am better than d1 but i can't AAA every time I play. I was always put in D1 in the FFR tourneys but could never compete because I can not AAA if my life depended on it.

Point is to win, not to break even, also it would make it so people don't try to amass points by playing songs both players can AAA and keeps the tourney from becoming a AAA fest for the upper divisions after everyone feels like the harder songs aren't worth playing anymore.

Only suggestions from me..

Catching the ball to get people back in (added variation)
Making it so if one person is obviously the best and won't be beaten in the division, that team doesn't automatically win. (Dossar D6 for example)

thats my only problem. i havent found a good way to handicap people from auto winning anything. like i would like it so that there is a chance albeit slim for say someone in D1 to beat a D6 player under the right circumstances

I had the same trouble with making this tourney, but I think it worked out pretty well so that most everyone has a shot at winning. Steal an idea or two if it helps you!

I'll try to think of something and pm it to you so this thread doesn't go too off topic.
