Re: Guitar hero VS Rock Band
I would take Rock Band. I think the solos are more in-depth than Guitar Hero's

Re: Guitar hero VS Rock Band
guitar hero world tour is fail, its hard to read the drumset, rhythms, screen, setting etc. the way the singing is done is also pretty fail, you basically have to slur the entire thing, and even then its just hard to read the lyrics and its just annoying to read the blue bar in the first place.

Re: Guitar hero VS Rock Band
RB for the win..
Since people like ME seem to only be able to master drums and vocals, you actually have a choice with rockband. so..yea :]

Re: Guitar hero VS Rock Band
I chose GH. The guitar is much better. I actually know the songs (granted I don't know very many songs, I'm just a gamer). The notes are circles and not rectangles. GH came out first and Rock Band thought it was a good idea, so they copied.

Rock Band used the whole band first and Guitar Hero thought it was a good idea, so they copied.

Re: Guitar hero VS Rock Band
Harmonix invented all the GH games until they sold it to Activision (GH3) SO basically rock band came first :X

The GH guitar is much worse. It has the sturdiness, but the RB guitar has softer inset buttons and a solo set. This is one thing Activision copied with the slider bar (that is complete trash--it doesn't work at all) My hand hurt after playing Guitar Hero for a while--I never had this problem with the Rock Band guitar. The songs in the GH franchise have been becoming emo-licious. The Rock Band songs are still the standard mix of old awesome songs and new decent songs. If you don't know the old songs, it's because you don't listen to classic rock. I also found that I prefer the rectangle notes. I don't like the hammer-on notes in either game but I've gotten used to the Rock Band ones. Harmonix, the people who made Rock Band, also made Guitar Hero. They made the first two games. Activision, their publisher, had a squabble with them over the full band game that Harmonix wanted to make, and they separated. Activision still had the rights to the franchise, so they hired an internal development team to continue to create new Guitar Hero games. I think this is a meaningless poll since Guitar Hero has been on a steady decline for years now and Rock Band continues to impress. World Tour was an epic failure (despite high sales) and was a huge turn-off for many fans (myself included). |

Re: Guitar hero VS Rock Band
Quoting everybody since my previous quote:
Yes, GH also did its copying, but that's called business. It always blamed on the first one who does the copying. (He started it!) Squeek, I'll agree on the GH guitar hurting, but I got used to that. Also my hands are massive (don't even think like that anybody) so my fingers would hit more than one fret button on the RB guitar. I agree on the fact that GH is on a decline and RB is on an incline, but my opinion, for now, stands as is. |

Re: Guitar hero VS Rock Band
same concept
different playlist Different drum set-up Same color notes. Different shape of notes I choose neither DM & GF ftw! More detail: Acitivision bought guitar hero franchise from harmonix So harmonix released rock band. Last edited by iwatchedherdie; 04-30-2009 at 04:23 PM.. |
