9/11 Planned or Real?

I've seen all the movies like 911 Eyewitness and Loose Change, and i gotta admit that stuff does really make me wonder about our government. I mean isn't the government suppose to protect everyone in this country. I always thought that was a normal thought of everyday people. I guess i may have been wrong...
What's your guys opinions about all the conspiracy-like stuff that happened on 9/11?

I think this would be a good CT thread but... Those movies are made to make you think that. Personally i think they had no idea unless you can prove otherwise, and if you can please do.

Yes, there is a right and wrong answer.

The right answer is that 911 was the act of Afghan terrorists.
The wrong answer is that 911 was staged by the government.

I hate George Bush as much as anybody, but he definately didn't stage 911.

This is definitely right though. 9/11 was definitely used by the government to meet their needs (see: Iraq War) but they didn't have anything to do with it.

ive never really known what to think of it. theres things on both sides that are convincing but i do belive that it was mostly for real and was not a conspiracy.

Maddox's point is that if the government had been careful and powerful enough to orchestrate 9/11, they should've been able to track down Dylan Avery before his video became widespread in the first place and take the site down before anyone could look at the video.

It's not the strongest point, I agree.

I think of it as some do Pearl Harbor: some say Roosevelt knew about Pearl Harbor and did nothing about it, so it would put America in WWII and help the country out of the Depression.

I believe (after watching Loose Change) that the terrorist planned everything themselves, yet the US government knew about it. From the facts and speculations in LC, I find the government took the genuinely planned attacks and made it more dramatic, such as causing the actual collapse of the towers through additional explosive means (and through the various evidence that the gov't knew about it from LC).

So basically, the terrorists made the attack, and the government pushed the results even further to perhaps rally more dedication to the invasion of Afghanistan and spark more patriotism than there would have been if the damage had been contained to the original crashes.
