This feeling really sucks. Like really, really sucks. I shouldn't be so upset over an internet game, but all of the hours I wasted this week only to get bumped down the elimination line on the last day. Now I'm in the ranks with the people who didn't even submit a score and that suuuucks.

I don't know how I could do so well on the previous round, and so shitty on the next one.

K. Enough melodrama for now. Going to go have a pity party for 1 and probably not open FFR for another 3 months, like last time.

Got a blackflag as well, but still nervous. The song is way too easy for D2. I sense it being AAA or die...

Partly unrelated, but the D2 song is a really fun file.

Yeah, I know how much that sucks. My sympathies go out to you, it's understandable that you're upset. I'd say try not to give up if you really enjoy the game, if you keep practicing then next time you can do better. Or you could improve too much and get put in the next division and lose anyway...ha.

Here are my plays for this round.
D1: seems like some tricky stuff for D1, I got 1-0-0-1 first try, messed up on the 14 trill ironically.
D2: (yay Blue Stahli! Though the audio is different from what I'm used to for this song, bleh) 2 clean, could probably AAA as long as I can get that one 232 minitrill or whatever it was. I've done worse so it's definitely possible.
D3: never thought I'd say this, but yay for dubstep. First try 15-3-1-1, hopefully I can at least clean that up. I hope I have a chance at progressing. The only thing in here I really can't handle is the 1234 rolls. I can AAA the fast 43214321[34] no problem. So does anyone have tips for how to be able to do 1234 that quickly with one hand? I pretty much always have to mash that stuff as like 1[23]4 kind of thing.
D4: yeah this is pretty far past what I can play well.

EDIT: for D3, Mirror makes the rolls a lot more manageable for some reason, didn't have much trouble in either direction. I got 5-4-1-2 now. Though I didn't even notice the averages happening, so...I'll work on that. But it looks like yet again I'll be playing on mirror (every round so far except the first). Not sure what the distribution will look like after more people have played, there's not much space above the elimination line D:

Edit: haha, tied my score with a 13-1-0-1. I can definitely improve this.

Sounds like you're right-handed. It's easier to roll on one side than the other, due to our hand bias. So what you need to do is focus on the entry to left-to-right rolls (in other words, focus on the 1s and 2s in a 1234 roll more). Put a bit more stress on those and force yourself to hit them. Sometimes a minute change in the angle or curvature of your fingers can make a difference. Finally, as a general note, play as lightly as possible (as lightly as your keys can safely register). This might sound simple, but we unconsciously exert more pressure on the keys than we often need to. Pretend your fingers are fleet-footed, airy and light. Be conscious of how much pressure you're exerting on the keys.

See if that helps.

D1: Not going to see a lot of AAA's in D1 this round, I imagine. Those trills, especially the one with the jumps on either end, tripped me up repeatedly. Had I not hit the restart button, I probably would have gotten 4 booflags and 2 blackflags on this song before getting the AAA.

D2: Nice and easy song to AAA. Took a couple tries due to the 43434 trill, but nothing too bad. I hope next round is this easy!

D3: First song out of the past three for D3 that I feel like I could almost compete on. A SDG would be possible for me on this one. Really enjoyed the steps.

Yeah, right-handed. Thanks! I'll be sure to try those suggestions out. Not sure how easy it will be because I'm pretty accustomed to the way I play, but I have been thinking about trying stuff like that (positioning and force) to see if it helps. I play really hard, lol, I guess to make sure I hit everything. That might be part of why my hand gets tired pretty quickly, I dunno.

Hurrah! In 25th too, so our joint score got us through <3

Good luck for this round, I've gotta say that the song seems like it'll be a lot easier... Thank god there's no real jumpstream yet XD
