The only 2 I'll have a problem with are Run to the Hills and Next to You. The kick beats are way tricky, and Run to the Hills just requires a large amount of stamina.

Wait the songs in Rock Band are all covers?

**** that. The only reason I got GH3 was because the songs weren't covers.

Didn't they say these songs wouldn't be covers?

No. There are some covers, there are some master tracks. Just like in GH3.

Yeah, chill out Squeek. Most of them are master tracks, especially the contemporary "pop" songs.

There are 7 covers and 38 master tracks, not counting the bonus songs.

I don't know why every song I've heard sounds like a cover, then.

Well, ok.

My friend picked this game up, and as soon as he told me about it, I went straight to his house. Here are my thoughts:

Pros: Game interface looks real nice and organized in my point of view. Very enjoyable on all instruments, because it's somewhat satisfying to know that you can sing or drum to some of these rock songs. And, it's loads of fun to play with 3 or more people. Song list is pretty good IMO also.

Cons: Timing window seems a little bit too tight, and for songs that have constant 16th notes (like Run to the Hills; drums and guitar, or Green Grass and High Tides, guitar), are really hard to keep up with in certain sections. Grading scale is a bit too easy to 5 star, one person can completely fail out, and it's still possible to 5 star a song.

I still think this game is a step in the right direction as far as music games go, but a second release in this series should be a must to fix some of these small issues. I still like this game more than GH3, but not by much since I'm the crazy guitarist who likes to play Slayer and Iron Maiden songs.

I think that the timing window is okay. It may feel strict because you may be used to the loose timing window in GH3. I do agree about the grading scale though. They seemed to have gone with the Phase grading scale, which IMO is too easy, and needs to be a bit more strict.

I got it oh God yes orgasming all over the place.

Played it all day today. I played a few rounds of vocals first since my friend wanted to try drums. I have determined it is impossible to do well on songs that I don't know off by heart. For example, I started on Medium and attempted Here It Goes Again. Failed. Creep. 96%. Started on Hard drums because I was a little apprehensive at first. First few hours went by and once I got the hang of reading, I realized that I was playing retardedly easy beats. Now I'm on Expert, but I'm also getting my ass handed to me by songs like Run For the Hills and Won't Get Fooled Again.

BUT THAT'S OKAY BECAUSE I FINALLY HAVE IT

YOU HEAR THAT ROCK BAND THREAD

THAT MEANS YOU DON'T NEED TO HEAR ANYMORE CANADIAN WHINING

Won't Get Fooled Again 94% Expert drums

woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot

I was very close to a five-star, but it made me so mad at the organ solo because I KNEW I wasn't gonna get it

btw Run to the Hills on drums ****ing sucks to play imo, things shouldn't be included in the game that don't register all that well, regardless of whether or not it's accurate to the drums in the song

and Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld blows on vocals, which sucks and ruins my life, I mean everyone knows Timmy can't say anything but his own name, it's blasphemy

Now I feel like I was the only Canadian here who had the game.

Anyways, Brainpower was such a catchy song to play on guitar. I love playing that song now.

I rigged up a mic stand today by attaching my mic to a folding music stand via twine. It works perfectly

So I did some expert guitar/hard vocals and had a blast. I 4-starred everything I played other than Timmy (which I failed on guitar somehow lol) and 5-starred Creep and Maps. The only other song I failed was Foreplay/Long Time (which I failed at the very end on vox 'cause I've never sang that song and wasn't expecting all the improv-type crap.

Also bass+vocals on Tom Sawyer is badass, makes you feel like effing GEDDY LEE!!!!!!
