Street Fighter 4
So I just picked up my copy from gamestop today and I must say that this game is AMAZING so far. Abel is one of my favorite new characters with his judo grapple combos. What do you guys think?
Also if you want to play it with me, I have it for PS3. My PSN ID is khezu77 so add me if you want to play! EDIT: I apologize if there is another thread for this, so redirect me if I am wrong.

Re: Street Fighter 4
Zangief is SO CHEAP! Blehh haha I do love playing as him though. Gouken is pretty fun to finally be able to use as well.
I will add you tomorrow when I have more time and then we can play! Hopefully unless the connection is bad.

Ya, I'm pretty horrible but sure. I'm starting to use Sakura more, Sagat too. I only have Akuma, Gouken and Seth to get.
Edit: Scratch that. Got GOuken, Akuma and Seth. Last edited by scorpio1690; 02-20-2009 at 11:36 PM.. |

Fun game, but the lack of a spectator mode baffles me.

Re: Street Fighter 4
Played it today at my friend's house and here are my analysis from the characters I used:
Ken - Plays like Ken. His Fierce Shoryuken is not as great as a wakeup compared to say a c.Roundhouse or even a Tatsumaki. Decent but you can tell his power was nerfed from other SF games. Guile - Decent around. His aerial f.Mid Punch crossup into a flash kick or even an EX Sonic Boom with an extra hit tacked on works wonders. Also, a neat little trick I found out. Inputting Flash Kick before the round begins makes his Flash Kick come out standing up which will make your opponent think twice before jumping right into the fray. C. Viper - She has some serious potential but I just haven't been able to see it yet. Her LP Thunder Knuckle is a godsend since it can go under most projectiles and her Burning Kicks done low to the ground catches opponents off guard. However, with the 10+ times I used her tonight, I didn't win one match. I'm not sure what it is about her but her pokes really have a hard time crossing people up into and laying on combos outside of a Thunder Knuckle initiated one is seeming like a chore then an easy task. Expect more feedback from this. Zangief - MY GOD. I seriously believe that the Red Cyclone should be up there with Sagat for God tier. Strong pokes, Lariat projectile dodge, UNGODLY throw game, etc. I swear, I really couldn't find a fault with him. Every person I played against using Zangief, I won. He really is that good. I canceled Ryu's Super with a well timed EX Piledriver. RIDICULOUS. Balrog - MMMMMMM. Delicious Buffalo Head. Against characters without an annoying projectile to spam, Balrog does quite well. I found it quite easy to catch people with a Fierce Headbutt into a Ultra. Also his Raging Buffalo is nothing to scoff at either. A very good character. I'll post more as I play the characters.

Re: Street Fighter 4
Doing the trials Im having troubles going from Crouching Punch or Kick to a Shoryuken or Tiger Uppercut. It always goes into a hadoken or high tiger shot. What should the timing be like for those.

Re: Street Fighter 4
As soon as you see the crouching punch or kick come out, you should already be inputting the directional move for the Shoryuken or Tiger Uppercut. Apparently, there is a shortcut for the Shoryuken that allows you to just do two QCF in rapid succession instead of the regula motion. I just call that lazy.

Re: Street Fighter 4
If you only have a 360, I'd really suggest getting either an arcade stick or a Gamepad. I had the displeasure of playing with a regular 360 controller before one of my bros whipped out his Gamepad and playing with a regular controller SUCKS ASS.

Re: Street Fighter 4
yeah i agree 360 controller sucks. also im going to have to agree with all the positive feed on Zangief. i feel that they may have made him too good though haha. im also liking the focus attack addition. its kinda like they didnt get rid of parrys entirely because of it. too many kens, ryus, and akumas online though. at least on 360 anyway.

Re: Street Fighter 4
Yea doing FADC is pretty amazing. Of course it's going to be hard to parry ALL of the projectiles but it does add variety by allowing you to parry incoming attacks and cancel into specials, supers, or ultras. Apparently, C. Viper has recently been moved to S+ Tier with Sagat, while Zangief moved up to S tier with a few other people according to Japanese sources. I knew there was something about her that made her good and I intend to find out.
