well, It's weaker in the style of play I like to focus on.

In the 64 version, pikachu had an awesome smash attack, thunder could hit people on ledges, as well as very high in the air (to send them higher off the top end of the screen), he had a decent priority, and his aireal attacks were pretty good, and his throw was exremely fast, as well as his dodge.

In the melee version, they turned down the percentage ratio on pikachu's smash attack (takes more damage to send people flying), Thunder does not hit people above a certain point, his aireal attacks are weak, if feels like his priority got lower. On the plus side, he got a better up A attack, and his throws are if anything, quicker. (however throws are overall much weaker in melee then in the 64 version)

Samus however, gained possibly the best ranged arsenal in the game, as well as death feet with very high priority (air kicks), a great smash attack, a quicker falling down A attack, and a very strong (and wide) sweeping floor kick. the screw attack got weaker, (but thats ok, because I never use it for attacking anyway). She dodges a tad bit slower, and her throw if anything got even slower than it was in 64, (but due to the overall weakness of throws in melee this doesn't mean a ton either)

I tend to lean more on physical attacks over specials, which is probably why i swapped for Samus in melee.

Actually I didnt like pikachu because of what you just said , the weak air attacks in melee u__u, thats why i swapped for Zelda, she has strong moves while on land and her strong shining side kick while in mid-air =D

yeah they ought to make pikachu more mortal in air but I've seen people using pikachu very well

Finally a good update.

Events!

From the screenshot, there could either be ten or one hundred. Those icons at the top could either be synonymous with the mission currently on screen, or they could be categories. Category 1 would be the first ten, of which four are shown in the screenshot.

... I'm just being optimistic =/

Number 1 is just for the first event xD

there are 10 events at the beggining and then you must unlock the next events by completing the first 10

I don't think the #1 is for 1st category

Do you think that they'll make us fight Gigabowser again just like they did in melee or did they cut that out?

Good friday update, some Melee stages are back

I'm glad Zelda Temple is one, it's one of my favorites for throwing items.

I don't think so... Giga Bowser appears with the Final Smash of Bowser and It'd be boring if Giga Bowser would appear like a Boss too ....

I feel often that the Final Boss will be both crazy hands ... but wait ... the gloves will break and will show two horrible hands and in the background a face will appear... that'd be great... we could know whose face are those hands =0 It'd be cool

King Dedede is playable, and he's definitely not from Sonic.

Boss of Classic or Adventure (Subspace Emissary) ?

Classic: something that epic should only happen on a certain difficulty, certain number of starting lives, and no continues.

Adventure: SPOILERS

We don't know if Adventure has anything to do with Master/Crazy hand yet. Ancient Minister and sucking up worlds with nintendo bosses to fight is the scenarios of Adventure Mode. Has to do with the trophies of characters coming to life and dieing again.

kind of confusing to tell until you play through the mode.

So they've brought back melee stages... does anybody think they'll bring back N64 stages? I hope they do, but I don't think they will.

Wow... it could've come out today. That's pretty hard to believe.

PS: I've been... away from the computer.

I love Sakurai.

Disconnection is a huge problem in online matches, both unintentional and intentional. If you're about to lose a match, unplug the network cable! That's what some people think to do. Because of the competitive nature of Xbox Live and all, people want to keep their ranks and scores at their maximum.

Totally different with Brawl. If you disconnect, for any reason, a CPU takes over for your character. And nobody in the match is told that there was even a switch.

This holds true for the random Brawl matches, not the Friends matches. And you know, now that I think about it, the reason I dislike online games is that I have other people telling me what to do and that I suck. I don't mind if my friends taunt me in games, but I care if some random person does it just to be a jerk. It's annoying. Basic Brawl disables chat, taunts, etc. (we already knew this). That way, you can play against someone online and have no idea who it is. Just a way of getting the positive experience of playing someone with completely different skill levels than your own without the negative experience of ten-year-olds teabagging you.

Here's another reason Sakurai is awesome:

Quote:
And there is one more important thing...

When you have a battle mode that runs online like Basic Brawl, the problem of what to do with hidden characters arises. If one of your opponents chooses a character you haven’t unlocked yet, it will be spoiled for you immediately.

But even without this mode, given the proliferation of the Internet these days, the existence of hidden characters is going to get exposed anyway.

So, this time I’m moving in the direction of not being too hung up on hidden characters.
Haha.

mmmh well, so if you dont want to get spoiled just dont play online till you unlock all the characters, that might be the best option xD

i also liked the fact that items will be selected by lottery like the items...sakurai is a true gamer because it thinks of the problems and dislikes of anyone XD i guess he even changed your mind about playing on-line

In halo 3, this is not true. If you leave in the middle of a match, your EXP will go down, which is needed to advance in your ranking, therefore players will think twice before leaving a match

before anyone starts (or continues) this halo Vs super smash let me say that both games can't possibly be compared and both on-line systems are also very different so STOP RIGHT THERE

Exactly. If you have a bad connection, get a better one. If you want to leave then be punished even more than losing. Thats how it should be
