Has this ever happen to your character...?
Days after installing StepMania, and then gotten the characters, this occurs. It's really scary. This mainly affects my fave. Mimi and some female Eyption (XD) character. The rest are just like.... Skin torn off, like Alex here. And all of this mess has to be related to the DDR PC characters. ;_; (Heck! I like to play from Sabrina to Yuki to Luna and to Sherry!) So.. This happens to you? And... You found a way to fix it? ;_; (Sorry if you think this is not improtant, but I like to play with charas sometimes to fit it's fitted songs...) - Timer Rabbit

w0w.... wtf weird w/ the first 2 and a tiny bit w/ the last 2. i personally dont really care to play with characters on, at least yet. uhh, as a way to fix it, not sure. maybe try downloading and installing the characters again, or just use different ones that suit ur style
all i can think of, since i dont have any experience with the caracters lol ~plasma

Re: Has this ever happen to your character...?
How do you even play with characters on? Isn't that far too distracting?
Or I guess it gives it more of the arcade feel of things. |

Re: Has this ever happen to your character...?
Well, the way I enjoy them is to turn the brightness of the BG screen to 70%, so it's not to bright and not to dark. (I'm more of the person to have fun than to take a challenge. I don't want to break the keyboard. XD)
And I got used to play with them. Or otherwise I will be lonely! XD (Well, sometimes I don't play them. Just depends. And I did that many times (reinstalling the characters), but they still never change! At least the DDRPC characters. (Offical 3rd to 5th mix characters are perfecly fine. ^^; ) So.... Yea. I guess theres no solution until hopefully some 3D DDR character artist can find teh solution. (So guess I can't play Mimi and her awsome syche of hers...) Thanks for the help anyway. Will leave thread up till somethings going on. ._.

Try turning Cel-shading on.
It might help. -Rabin |

Re: Has this ever happen to your character...?
It does look like a graphics card issue to me...
You might as well give us details in regards of what graphics card you are using along with the RAM it has. For the time being, just use the announcer if you feel lonely. With the announcer on, it feels like you are putting on a show! And yes I do know many announcers tend to be lousy but if you customize them to your liking, it can help out a bit in terms of being more superb. Last edited by hyprskillz; 03-10-2007 at 11:14 PM.. |

Re: Has this ever happen to your character...?
Don't know what graphics card I have. :\
And I will be happy if I can cel-shade... But not. XP And maybe.. But I always leave my announcers off. XD (Want to listen to the sogns.) And P.S. I play characters for fun now. Reached my first AA in "Heaven is a Place on Earth", and no chara surport. But soon will take more challenge (+character) later. (When I feel like it. And poking Naoki + NMR.)

Re: Has this ever happen to your character...?
Try using a different character, like these, and see if the problem is with the characters you are using. I'm giving you a link to 2 colorful characters (Red Zealot and O'Malley) where there should hardly be any white on them at all, so if they don't work, the problem is with your graphics card. I hope this helps point out where the problem is

Re: Has this ever happen to your character...?
I'll try and play. However, said earlier, this happens ONLY at the DDR PC characters. So offical 4th 5th mix characters are okay and not whiteskined. XP
P.S. @ToaRabin: My little brother is a fan of Halo and I think he will enjoy these. :3 (AKA will get more if feel like it.) He is bored out of his life (because he completed his Hal games and such.), and I want to try get him hooked to SM. XD EDIT: I test them and made comparation (for heck. XD) at Magic Dance. So here are the result... (Kinda goofing off with the screencaping... Also played two of my simfiles.) And the result is that they are perfectly fine. Same with NMR. Luna's fur is whiteskinned, but to me I don't mind, since red and white are Santa's colors. XD But people like... Sabrina And Sherry: Still have whiteskined. But those I keep I don't mind. (AKA those two...) So... Yea. ^^;

Re: Has this ever happen to your character...?
Huh? *Nyoro-N face*
Well... I used Random-Movies (clips from various sim-files i've collected so far) for the Bgs... About taking screenshot, you just press the "Print Scr" from your keyboard and it will automatcly take a screenshot (with a "snap" sound) and add to the "Screenshots" folder. (AKA @ StepMania folder) UPDATE: Since I re-install Step-Mania, it seems the characters are fixed! (AKA no more whiteskins!) Sorry for the buttload of pics. But i'm happy! And now I can get (at least a few) more favorites into my game! However... Characters like Mimi isn't fixed... With that darn pumpkin face in her. XP So she still isn't avilable as StepMania hates poor Mimi. ^^; I am happy, nya! But I don't know if this is going to repeat again....
