I Just Need Some Tips
Just as the title says.
Since i'm a new user to this community I could need some tips on playing FFR The Game, controls, speed, zoom etc. I tried to use zoom in twice but it was still bumpy when I played it. Maybe it's because i use a laptop with wireless connection? And one more thing, what control would you prefer for a laptop user to use? Since my arrow buttons are really small they are hard to use. Thanks before hand |

Re: I Just Need Some Tips
many good players use speed mods ranging from 1.5-2.0
it just depends on what you feel is comfortable. since youre just starting out, i would start with 1.25 and play a little bit on that. if you feel like you can play on 1.5, move up and work on your accuracy using that speed mod. after you play a bit on that and feel like you can play well even faster, move up. of course when you change speed mods, you will not magically become better. it takes some time for your reaction speed and eyes to get used the to faster speed, but trust me, it it well worth the practice. many users like playing spread which is where you assign letters to correspond with the arrows, i use ZXNM, but there are many variations such as ASKL, QWOP, DFJK, CVBN. it all depends on how comfortable youre hands feel when you play. some users perfer to map the keys at an angle like QSPL instead of ASKL. its just takes some time to figure out what your hands feel most comfortable playing at. hope that helps you to get started! |

Thanks alot Adamaja!
It really feels good to get help in a new community when you have no clue what to do. I will try out your way with the ZXNM at first, but as you said, I should play the way my hands feel most comfortable. Thanks again! Anymore users that have some tips for me? |

Re: I Just Need Some Tips
I do an extremely tight spread, M,./ (from left to right). The main downside of this configuration is that because the buttons are so close together, you might wind up hitting the wrong one because of concentration loss on an easier song. It's also dangerously close to the Windows flag button. However, like Adamaja said, just find a configuration that's comfortable for you and registers all four arrows.
Another piece of advice I can give is: Challenge yourself. Don't just stay on the easy songs. How I got to be at my current level was obtained through a variety of stepfiles. |

I use a laptop too and before I got my subbie, I played at 2x for the most part and used zx./ as my set up and its served me quite well. You just need to experiment and find what works best for you.

Re: I Just Need Some Tips
I used to use DFJK, but switched to M,./ after I figured out I could transfer my fingers to make one handed trills as two handers, so it's like temporarily switching to index during a song.
