100 Days of FFR

I'm starting a project, which will go on for the next 100 days. Simply titled "100 Days of FFR".

I've been playing FFR for .42 years, which is roughly 150-160 days. In that time, I've increased my skill to the point where I can get fairly large combos on Masters-Guru songs, and can beat songs like Fury of the Storm and Vertex Beta without much of a problem.

For the next few months, I'll be recording myself playing a song from FFR, and occasionally a Simfile in resonance. I can only imagine how good I'll get in the next 100 days. I doubt my progress will be as rapid as my first 100 days were, but I'm sure there will be a significant improvement either way.

It's not necessarially an experiment. I'm just trying to track overall progress throughout.

I could, however, record myself playing several songs I struggle with, and then replay them at the end of the 100 days, as a general comparison. I don't know if I'll do that, but it's an idea..

Try screenshrinking (cutting off part of the screen so you don't see as many arrows on the screen at once).

I did that, once, after watching Dynamo play Pants with Screen shrinking.

I think it was CIA rave.. cut off just above the combo counter, didn't make much of a difference, and didn't make anything easier/harder after switching back to full screen.

I think it does make a difference (screen cutting) because it gives the player the illusion that the arrows are going faster than they really are.. I improved a lot after I started to do that.. but.. I guess it's not the same for everyone? Takes a long time to get used to.

i'd recommend doing a gradual cut... not going all the way to cutting above the combo at once. work towards it. cut so you can see half of the accuracy... then cut so you can't see the accuracy... then cut so you see part of the combo... then just a tiny bit of the combo... and finally, no combo.

if you work on it, you'll see an improvement, guarenteed.

Screencut, at least to under the combo. Your Pa will improve by at least 20% after you get used to it

ps:this is a perfect cut for me////o and synth should think about makin the rdy go thing and the combo transparent cuz it duz distract me a bit.

This reminds of a news article on yahoo about a man who took a picture of himself every day for 8 years, to show how much he changed. It was amazing how much he really changed, I really hope you actually go through with this until the end.
