Re: Can anyone tell me where to start???
You want to learn how to program.
You should start with a programming language called Python, as it's a lot more beginner-friendly than most other languages out there. There's an easy-to-use introductory page to get you all set up here. I'd love to explain more, but my ride just got here. Anyway, programming is pretty intimidating when you first start out. If you need someone to fall back on, you can hit me up on AIM at "Sic Trans Gloria" Good luck. |

If you want to learn HTML or any web coding, www.w3schools.com is a great source that takes you step-by-step. It's where I learned.

Re: Can anyone tell me where to start???
I started programming with HTML which seems like the best way to work your way into the world of programming. Wow. That sounded cheesy.

As far as actual programming goes, HTML barely scratches the surface. The only thing they would learn from HTML is the concept of typing "code" into a text editor and having it appear on-screen (whereas they would still be left in the dark on all things related to variables, control structures, functions, classes, etc). That being said, XAMPP would be a great jumping-off point. |
