The pros and cons of FFR gambling
As many of you have realized already, gambling can make or break you. There is no strategy, it's all sheer luck. Isn't luck the key word in anything that has to do with gambling? I'll just tell you a few pros and cons about FFR credit gambling and don't worry, I won't go into a spiel about casino gambing.
The pros of FFR credit gambling: You can get easy credits. Sorry, that's it. The cons of FFR credit gambling: You can lose a lot or all of your credits within minutes. You can belittle yourself to begging for credits. You might quit the game because you don't have anymore secret songs and don't have very many credits. Kinda like throwing your life savings in the fire. You will lose credits if you don't quit while you're ahead. I'll explain this later. You might get into bad real life gambling habits. You might cry. Credits are becoming more valuable (yes this is a bad thing). I'll explain this later. One might ask, ''When's a good time for me to stop?'' My answer, if you have more than you started with, STOP RIGHT THERE! If you were on a winning streak, great! Stop before you get yourself onto a losing streak. It'll happen. Nobody ever has only winning streaks. If you look at the top 10 winning streaks and losing streaks, they have about the same numbers and currently there are 2 users that are on both lists. Read closely. This is why you should stop right now: you know that little 2% will go to the house thing? IT SUCKS! It will KILLL you! Learn to hate it hate it hate it. In my opinion, the whole reason FFR credit gambling was implemented was because the value of credits was dropping. If everyone has a lot of credits, the credits aren't valuable. Now people gamble them away and they are more valuable. Before you go saying that the credits just get transfered from one account to the other, I'll just mention the 2% thing again. IT SUCKS! If you take part in a 100k bet, you're risking 100k to get 98k. Sure the 98k looks nice, but the 100k taken away looks way more worse than the 98k looks nice. Tass's plan is working. Look at it on the large scale. I think Tass said that about 1 billion or so credits have been gambled so far. Anyone know what 98% of 1 billion is? It's 980 million. So far, we have successfully DESTROYED 20 million credits into oblivion. Hopefully this post has been enough to convince you that gambling will ultimately make you lose. Some people will see this thread and think its a bunch of BS and keep gambling their credits away, but for the other 99%, use common sense. If you're behind, don't gamble to get ahead. Just stop. Stop where you are right now everyone. P.S. Tass probably won't be too happy with this scheme revealing thread =P. Foiled again!

Re: The pros and cons of FFR gambling
Nah. That's turning into a brag thread. This is a general statement about FFR gambling.
Which brings me to another point. You might see a bunch of people bragging, but that doesn't mean that other people aren't losing. They aren't just going to openly state that they lost all their credits.

No offense, Rushy, but I hope the lock this thread. I don't think the admins designed gambling to **** us all over. Let the people decide, instead of trying to abolish gambling.
Note: This is coming from someone who has lost all his credits. Twice. |

Re: The pros and cons of FFR gambling
kinda, but think about the fun.
Pros - win credits - winning is really fun and make you happy - Teaches us really valuable life skills Cons - lose credits - losing credits makes you sad

That's about all I was going to say, too. There's no further to go from it.

Re: The pros and cons of FFR gambling
Honestly, I'm with Rushy on this one..
I'm getting tired of handing out credits to those who lose Credits due to Gambling. Which is the reason I refuse to Gamble.. I've gone from 100k down to 8k on giving people credits so they weren't completely screwed. Now, thats not by one person. This is by a multiple of people that have lost everything. It should show you that Gambling will tease you and then kill you =]] |

Re: The pros and cons of FFR gambling
it's 1% of total. over 1 billion total has been wagered. the person who wins gets 98% because it's 1% from each user, regardless of winning/losing, but it gets reflected as 100% loss to the loser and 98% gain to the winner. as such, it's 10 million pulled... not 20 million.
and, i really don't care about this type of thread.... yes, we want to make credits more valuable. at the same time, this is a feature that many users are enjoying and having fun with. other users had fun with it until they got greedy, and hopefully they've learned a valuable life lesson from it.

Re: The pros and cons of FFR gambling
You forgot to mention other things for credit value raising such as more purchased songs soon to come.

Re: The pros and cons of FFR gambling
Easy for you to say when you've won big. If you had less credits after betting than before betting, I'd bet that you would change your opinion.

Not really. I've lost **** loads and only have a fraction of what I started with. I still like it. It calms me.

Tip to everyone: Keep your credits. Play FFR to get credits. Why take a 50% chance when you can get them 100% gaurunteed through song playing? Takes too long and is boring playing FFR for credits? This means you don't actually enjoy FFR. What you really value is "money" and feeling powerfull. You should either reevaluate your feelings towards FFR and try to enjoy it for what it really is, or just go gamble with cards. lol. Last edited by Skeleton-GotW; 07-15-2008 at 10:45 PM.. |

*shrug* I'm having fun. If I lose, I don't make threads to bitch about it. I'll stop when I have enough for a t shirt and a subscription.
