Double, Maybe Triple Credit Days?
I've realized that earning 90,000 credits might just take me a few years to do. And I'm sure that other people feel the same way. If anyone is/was a fan of playing Uncharted 2 online than you've probably heard of their occasional "Double Cash Weekend." These weekends were always eagerly anticipated because they made leveling up twice as fast. I think it would be nice for something like this to happen on FFR. I don't know about you, but I don't really look at my credit count when I finish song. Most of the time I just look at the score. It's because I'm just saving up for songs that I can unlock when I get a certain credit count. But the number of credits required is just so high that I don't pay attention to the number of credits I have. That's why I think it would be cool to have maybe a weekend, or maybe just a specific day, of double credit earning (maybe even triple) to give people something to look forward too, that is if anyone cares at all.

Re: Double, Maybe Triple Credit Days?
this would be awesome
It'd encourage more people to play, I guess. And I don't think there'd be a significant drop in playtime on other days, as well. It's win-win! |

*Enter rant about getting 150k+legit by playing, etc*
If you really want them, play a lot.

I already do. But I don't feel like sitting in front of a computer for 15 hours a day.

+1 for this idea!
I don't think the occasional surprise double credit day every so often with maybe triple ones for special occasions (staff birthdays and the such?) would break the credit system in any way. And yeah, days like that are always an incentive for people to come and play more. Rockstar do it a lot with their online games! Maybe if this was combined with some kinds of bonus for multiplayer (credit rewards for reaching various ranks, or new tokens for reaching ranks, X wins in multiplayer, etc etc), it would help the ailing MP scene? |

Re: Double, Maybe Triple Credit Days?
Yeah I've made maybe 20K in the last month :S I agree with this, as there are a lot of secrets and a lot of purchased songs, I've been a member for 5 years and don't even have half of the purchased songs G_G

Re: Double, Maybe Triple Credit Days?
+1 for sure. Stuff like this would make more people actually play the game. Having more whoring contests (maybe something every month or two when the tournament isn't in town?) would work great too.

Just man up and play. Credits aren't even a thing. If you want to thank me, just get your play count above 3000. Stay on the site, contribute to the forums, and post in the scores thread when you do something you're proud of. A guy with 250 plays who wants triple credit days is just lazy. I'll have something when I get back, it won't be straight up 2x/3x but something more my style.

It's an idea a lot of people support and honestly, there wasn't any begging intended. It's a simple statement, and yes, while 90K may not take a few years for a lot of people, some it might dependent on how often they can play FFR. For all you know, the OP might have school or other RL obligations that significantly limit their FFR-playing time. As for the credit earning rate? This is something I noticed even back in my FFR newbie days in 2006. I remember when the credit limit was just 40, thank you very much, and when we had to screencut, which drastically reduced scores. Not to mention the dreaded avmiss bug, another huge hit on the more difficult/dense songs. Which is what half of the 40-credit-earning songs were back then. There was an extra art of precision to the game and not many people could get that right in their newb years. Granted, the need was much lower, considering that we only had a dozen purchased songs before we figured out that, but still, there's a lot of gratitude to the fact that we've fixed so much about how this game works. Plus, I happen to agree that sometimes credits aren't all that common to someone who doesn't play the game as much as some other people. Not everyone has time to be a gamewhore like yourself, and even at 3000 plays, a theoretical maximum would be about... 180,000 credits, assuming an average of 60 credits a play. Fairly unrealistic number, and that's assuming someone plays marathon/high-note songs the whole time. And that's still about 60K short of being able to buy all the purchased songs without affecting secret songs. So, that's another... 1000+ plays to make up the remainder. I support the idea of bonus credit days. Maybe not double or triple as the OP suggests, but as Velo says: something that fits with the styles and needs to keep FFR active and happy.

Re: Double, Maybe Triple Credit Days?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not -1ing this idea.
I just don't want all of FFR to get it in their heads that Planet Karma is supposed to be easy to earn. Some people have obligations, but that doesn't mean they deserve instant access to everything in a game just because it's a game. FFR is like anything else, prioritize it, or don't excel. Unlocking all 250 000 or so credits worth of songs in this game is supposed to feel good BECAUSE it's tough. Last edited by Mike Weedmark; 06-17-2012 at 02:38 PM.. |

Re: Double, Maybe Triple Credit Days?
Frankly, with the ridiculous amounts of credits that upper tier players have nowadays, I think I'd like it better if credits were given out more freely, but more and more Secret/Purchased songs were added gradually - not, like, at the rate of 1 purchased every week lol, something slower. I think it just fits in better with human nature to prefer working with and towards bigger numbers than smaller ones when it comes to credits. Ergo, for e.g. move Planet Karma up to something higher, or add in more songs at that upper range - 250,000 doesn't seem unreasonable. Just a thought.
