So I've never bothered in the past with black Friday because I've never had income I could use to buy unimportant things. I'm curious what kind of things people have gotten discounts on during black Friday. I'd love to buy some discounted PC hardware.

The last and only time I went Black Friday shopping was 11 years ago, when me and my sister went with my dad to get a $400 32" plasma TV for $80 at Walmart. Recently though, it's just been clothes I buy for other people for cheap.

I'm just gonna shoot for cyber Monday this year. But if you want a good idea of where to go a lot of retailers are already getting ad stuff ready and you can sign up to have it sent to your email so you can see the deals earlier. I'd grab like Best buy and stuff so you can see who's going to have what and figure out what you want most.

Last time I went black Friday shopping I had spent too much and had returned about 90% of the crap that I bought :/ I need to have a plan next time I go.

Last year I just got shoes. Probably won't go this year though. But there's usually a lot of neat stuff to buy, you just gotta be super early to the stores or refreshing your browser like crazy if you're gonna go for the online sales. Don't expect to get any sleep if you're serious about buying lots of stuff though. And there's also Cyber Monday.

Cyber Monday might be better since its right after I get payed. I don't know why I've never heard of it though. Is it mostly an online deal thing?

Pretty much. But some electronics stores will have better deals on Cyber Monday than they do on Black Friday for in-store purchases only.

I bought a really nice flatscreen TV from newegg on a Black Friday deal, but there was shipping issues and it got sent back so I just got a refund lol. Other than that I've only bought random computer things; A monitor here, cooling fan and RAM there, etc.

How do you end up spending more money because of crowds? I don't think those things are comparable.

He's saying spending time. If you go black Friday shopping expect to be in line for 4-8 hours

Now they say you don't even get the best deals on black Friday anymore, you get better deals about 2 weeks before Christmas. You run the risk of not being able to find certain things though. I think it's crazy that black Friday has turned into Thanksgiving, Friday and Monday now. It's messed up that stores are making people work Thanksgiving, AJ might be stuck working on it this year and we work in the e-commerce center not an actual store.
