Re: New Jersey Convention
SCOTT WUTS UR ADDREZSSS SO I CAN COME TO UR HOUSE AND WE CUD DO STUFF Edit: more importantly than that lol Every year in around June, Anime Next takes place, ive gone there every year since 2003 I think, this guy named sammy owns ddreastcoast, and used to bring a machine there every year, this was the first year he didnt though D: its not major, but possibly you could have a panel there, this has nothing to do with a meet up btw, just a little idea and about the meetup, i love scott's idea for six flags ;D Last edited by [TeRa]; 09-5-2007 at 01:38 PM.. |

Re: New Jersey Convention
I have a place in mind that would be Ideal for up to about 40-50 people.
It's called Infinate games, in Blue bell PA. The place has at least 36 computers, three TV's, Xbox, Game Cube, Random other consoles, and a lot of multiplayer games. Used to be a place that hosted Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments. I might be able to convince the woman that owns the place to rent it out for a day to us, Otherwise, she charges (or used to a year ago) $3 an hour, and better rates if you're planning on staying longer. I tried to get a Six Flags thing going this summer, But nobody commited, and I dropped it.

Oooh yeah Six Flags would be great. It's about an hour and a half ride for me but it's a ride I'm definitely willing to take. It's definitely one of the best theme parks around. The new wooden coaster is absolutely amazing btw

Dark, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. Same with Tera's. Let's get a list of things going that are possible and we'll pick and choose out of those.

As for Six Flags, I probably won't go unless I can successfully convince my parents that it would be fine to meet up with people I know only from the internet and a dude who I know from an arcade in some place well over an hour away from home. That and even if it is to take place in May I'll likely end up doing post-AP assignments that I'll be a lazy dick with and work extremely slowly on. A quick fix for a meet-up...Digital Life, anyone? This year it'll be on the last weekend of September.

If NYC, I can't make it. If NJ, I might make it.

Re: New Jersey Convention
Just a random idea. [Tera] suggested Anime Next for June. It's usually a big hit, but this December, New York Anime Festival is debuting. Since Big Apple Anime Fest got canceled a few years ago, New York Anime Festival is expecting to be a huge turn out.
Just thought it'd give FFR huge exposure if it were to.. well idk.. do what they did at that other convention, haha. Just a thought. |

Re: New Jersey Convention
Im glad that so many people support the idea of having an FFR convention in NJ or NYC, who knows if this forum builds up we might get an answer.

Re: New Jersey Convention
Bumped like crazy, but it's true, it's nearly summer, we should start cooking up a convention now.
Discuss. |

Re: New Jersey Convention
I'm thinking if possible like a 20 person meetup at Six Flags or something, that is if we can get enough people that are willing to go, and actually keep their word. The Six Flags thing was recommened before, and it failed, but we have more time to plan it out and everything, I'm 100% willing to go.
Although yeah, a small meetupish thing by ITS wouldn't be bad. PS, ITS = In The Swing, batting cages / arcade / lot of children It's in Waldwick, NJ. Last edited by [TeRa]; 05-29-2008 at 10:52 AM.. |

Re: New Jersey Convention
I've still never been to ITS, rofl. A few of my friends work there, so whatever.
If it's going to be at least a some-what large meet-up, then keep it to like Six Flags or something (I doubt I would be able to make it though), but if it's like around 10 people or less, meeting up at ITS wouldn't be too bad. |
