Editor's Choice - READ ME!
Editor's Choice - What is it?
I’ve been tossing this idea back and forth for a good while. There are some people on here that write stories that are really, really good. There are some people who write stories that are... not so good. But I want to draw attention to the good stuff. The stuff that makes sense, the stuff that is thrilling, or tugs at the heart strings. I love it when my heart strings are tugged. Especially by thrilling, logical stories. I’ve gone ahead and hand selected some members to make up the Editor’s Panel to help me weed out the good from the bad, from the really, really bad. Just so that there’s no pandering to them, I’m not going to give out their names and respectfully wish that they do not come forward. In this thread, links will be provided to the stories we find to be exceptional. What does this mean to you, the reader? Well, it means that all the stories worth reading are going to be in one handy location for your browsing pleasure. It’s like a library full of recommended books for you to check out. What does this mean to you, the writer? More exposure for your work. Not on a grand scale, mind you, but it will drive some more traffic to your stories. What does this mean to you, the writer AND reader? Constant improvement. Attention to detail. Competition, all in fun. Not to mention, in the future there might be something more for the folks that have threads that have the ever so great “Editor’s Choice!” brand. It’s like Taster’s Choice, but without the coffee. Okay, okay, that’s a stretch, it’s nothing like Taster’s Choice. But check back every once in a while, see what else has been added. One final note – Authors whose stories have been selected to be an “Editor’s Choice!” thread, you will be notified via PM. So turn them on if you haven’t already. EDIT: Subscribe to this thread. I'll bump it whenever I put a new batch of stories in here, and it'll show up in your UserCP. Hurray! Mal

Re: Editor's Choice - READ ME!
Is this to be updated soon? I'm sure there's been some good works since June, especially the new "The Day I Saved FFR" story. I haven't read it yet, but I think that it would be deserving of being in here, if this thread is will ever actually be updated.
Maybe if some old, memorable stories were dug up and then newer ones were added to this thread it could actually work out, as it doesn't seem to have gone far ;P |

Re: Editor's Choice - READ ME!
All the fags I contacted to help me with this have been most unhelpful. I might just give threads a Mal seal of approval and official sticky.

Re: Editor's Choice - READ ME!
Doesn't *** mean the end of a cigarette or something? Somebody mentioned that today. As for that, A sticky for the really good stories sounds good enough. I highly doubt there have been many worthy of one, so there probably wouldn't be, say, 3 pages of stickied threads haha.
EDIT:: Yup, *** is a British term for cigarette. |

What a quality post!
FFR Phantom Challenge should be on there. Fish's latest short story should be, too. I'll skim through the last few pages and edit this with some more. |

Re: Editor's Choice - READ ME!
The blame does not fall solely on me. The panel I picked has not responded to a single frickin' PM or anything like that.
I'll be man-handling this, though. Maybe. I get side tracked super easy, like the other day whe

Well hey I could try and join your little panel. Perhaps I'm not the greatest, but if you're in need of help, I'm there.

I was thinking the same thing. If you need a new panel I'm sure MooMoo and I wouldn't mind helping out at all.

Re: Editor's Choice - READ ME!
"and"; requesting further elaboration, specifically on your comment about proper grammar.
why couldn't you have just told me what you meant, rather than saying "and is a 3 letter word"? in case we didn't know that? i mean... you're not a smartass are you? can you please just elaborate? |
