Not even attempting Meat Boy impossible. I barely even got the hard. Badges seem to be uber lame as of late.

Some of these badges lately are *hard*. Meat Boy is going to take me a while. Kongai is still kicking my ass, but I noticed something:

If it's taking you a while to find an opponent, cancel!

My theory is that it tries to pair you up with someone of comparable level, and when this happens, it happens fast. If it's taking a while, it's because it can't find any open players around your level, so it starts to branch out. If you're of high level without others around of comparable level, you're more likely to end up fighting someone of lower level than of higher level (either because the higher level guys aren't playing any more because they have the badge, or because, simply, there are more lower-level people).

Therefore, you wind up fighting some lower-level dude, with huge point-loss risk. Beating lower-level guys gives you squat for points, and losing is a huge setback. It's the main reason why I've been throttling back and forth. I end up losing to really good Level 11's, etc, and it murders any previous victories I had recently.

Losing to someone of your own level isn't so bad, but beating them gives a nice +100 reward. I can't believe I didn't notice this "time difference" issue sooner. Hopefully I'll stop getting stuck in this 2100-2300 range.

If it takes more than 5 seconds to find an opponent, I'm just going to cancel. I'll let you guys know if this helps or not.

EDIT: Yep, this is definitely the case. Unfortunately I just lost to two 17's anyway. Sigh.

Hopefully i can get kongai tomorrow. I'm right now working at 1 old badge / day, hopefully soon i'll have finished all of the easy badges I have remaining, and then start working on those horribly annoying ones.


Rubix: after extensive Googling...

Capturing video from a webcam is easy, sending a stream of video is not... you generally need special software and equipment or a host that allows streaming.

Without streaming technology, you will only be able to transfer the whole video file to the receiver for them to view.

If the connection is quick enough, it may appear to be streaming as the data is transferring faster than the video is playing, however, it is not streaming.

More information such as the software involved on both ends will be necessary to help you further.

Guess its a no go. Ah well. I can still help somewhat on kongai using the webcam but its quality is crappy like Kongai.

With the 300 second achievement removed from Achievement Unlocked, I managed a 275sec time. My last achievements were Get Off Your Seats and Longevity and no doubt there's room for improvement :P

I had already played it once so I remembered most of the esoteric awards

Jon: if you recall, about 6-12 months ago... the admins used to do some live broadcasting on the front page of the site. we used a webcam to do that. synth had some special software that was constantly giving us issues, but that's what we did.
