TWG LXII: Cthulhu Rising
With a loud shout for order, the Reverend GamerShadow called the meeting to order.
"Now, my children, calm we must have calm if we are to see our way through this crisis of faith!" The crowd of townsfolk slowly came to order, shouts turning to quiet whispers and finally silence. All of them looked up to where the Father stood at the pulpit waiting for him to continue speaking. "Thank you, everyone. Now this is a trying time for us all, but our faith in the lord will see us through this terrible tragedy" "Tragedy?" called out Freakysnots "You mean murder. No way that was a suicide, we all saw what happened to him, Doc you tell him!" Doctor Litodude, obviously pained to interrupt the priest, nevertheless nodded his head in confirmation, causing yet another stir of whispers and unease. The man had been found in his home, doors and windows closed and locked, hanging from the rafters by a wire. The police ruled it a suicide, and there was a note to support it, but before the body could be taken away, a number of people from the town had seen that the body had been defaced, strange symbols carved into its chest and arms. Detective pntballa18 stood up at this point, a red tinge of anger creeping into his face at having his investigation called out in public like that. "Well what else were we supposed to think? Doors were locked, there was a note, maybe he cut his own self up before he took his jump, what do you want us to do, start investigating the whole town? Nobody liked that schmuck anyway, we all had a reason to do him in, and I doubt very much anyone even cares that he's gone." This sparked off yet another loud din of debate and arguement as Father GamerShadow tried unsuccessfully to keep everyone calm. Just then, the doors to the chapel burst open and Makilaz came puffing in, holding a sheaf of papers and diagrams. Running up to the pulpit, he held up a sheet that had on it a copy of the strange image that had been carved into the chest of the apparant suicide victim. "I found it...the symbol, it's of the occult! I was sure I'd seen it somewhere before. We had a guest lecturer at the university who taught a course on witchcraft and the occult, and this was one of the symbols he showed. It belongs to a sect of cultists who worship a demon called *at this he shifts through some papers* Cthulhu. They believed that by carrying out certain rituals including human sacrifice, they could summon him into the world to grant them enormous power!" As he spoke, a number of people in the crowd exclaimed in shock, the old widow Jenkins gave a cry and fainted dead away. "Well what are we supposed to do about this?" "Will they kill again" "How can we find them?" Makilaz flipped through his papers once again. "It seems that their rituals require that the person be taken only after sundown, so as long as everyone stays in their homes, and locks their doors against intruders, they should be safe." Dooey100 looked around suspiciously at everyone, and reached under his jacket for the pistol he kept there. "Yeah, we could lock them out, or we could just let 'em in and plug 'em one" "There...there is one other thing...I found in my notes that is...troubling." This brought an immidiate end to the mutters, at the tone of the professor's voice. "The victims...they need to be personally known by the people performing the sacrifice...these people...they must be from the town." Just as Makilaz finished this ominous pronouncement, the lights in the chapel suddenly cut out. Amidst the shocked screams and cries, four voices intoned loudly Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn The doors of the chapel burst open and everyone fled for their lives, rushing to their homes to lock their doors, and bar their windows. Everyone that is, except for four, dark figures with a dark purpose, and one. Panicked, near to fainting, their first victim, taken just after sunset right out from under the watchful eyes of Man and God. Game Note: The "job" of each person in the stories was assigned randomly, using a seperate random generation from the one generating roles, and has absolutely no bearing on roles whatsoever and no connection to roles either. I will be playing all of you according to the idea that you are greens. Giving each person a character archtype just makes writing the story easier, and makes for a more readable plot. If you really don't like the position in the town you were given, let me know and I can change it. Re: TWG LXII: Cthulhu Rising
1. A+ would read again.
2. obligatory human post. 3. Is this a normal game (4 wolves, seer, guard, humans) with a theme or is it a special game? I never bothered to check the host signup thread for irl reasons. |

Hehe, it's just a normal game as you specified, with a story that doesn't suck, but otherwise has no effect on the game.
Also, awesome avatar pnt. Last edited by devonin; 04-13-2008 at 08:03 PM.. |
