Cloud Nine (Dude Remixed His Own Song Version)

The lead could be heavier, but I feel this has a lighter atmosphere than the original.

Re: Cloud Nine (Dude Remixed His Own Song Version)
Damn I feel this is very over-FX'd just for the point of putting FXs, and they are pushed too loudly...
Getting that out of the way, you have improved amazingly in mixing, sound design and everything. It sounds like proper, cohesive song and I enjoy listening to it. Don't forget to mix up the main melody a bit more but otherwise and perhaps introduce a countermelody or section (A-B-A) I'd say you probably are already better than me at executing your songs effectively after only a few months of producing oops |

Re: Cloud Nine (Dude Remixed His Own Song Version)
I got lazy, but I knew all along I should've mixed up the melody. But it's hard for me cause I have NO CLUE what the key is. I just started from scratch and played it by ear. I could've just messed around, but I figured "uggh, I'm already putting way more effort in this than I should. This should be fine."
I went through at least 15 leads before using this light one. The bass-line sounds amazing in my opinion. First time incorporating a rolling bass-line in my songs (and not having it just be gay dd-dd-dd-dd-dd-dd-dd-dd-dd-dd repetitively.) Though it means a lot that you think I've improved. I take that ridiculously personally, seeing as I've been uploading my stuff here since almost the beginning.

Not only do I think you've improved a lot and rapidly but I also feel you will continue on that trend of self-improvement. I expect progressively better things by you

Re: Cloud Nine (Dude Remixed His Own Song Version)
That's... not gonna really happen, only because my computer- as you know- is HORRIBLE. I tried doing methods most pros do (which only included 2 instances of Nexus2 and a 3xOsc) and my idle usage was at 80. It sounded amazing once rendered, but it was just... :LLLLLLLL
I'll be able to do better once I upgrade my rig. But I do know I can do better, thanks CBR.

Re: Cloud Nine (Dude Remixed His Own Song Version)
Improvementtt, I feel like there isn't too many effects, they just override the mix a bit
I'd just turn down the fx a little bit and the chords a bit to bring out the melody, the chords feel like they're fighting the limiter Cool progression!

Also been meaning to ask: your stuff is good and everything, I'm a fan, but some of your percussion sounds... raw, so to speak. Like, it sounds less clean, but more pronounced. Is that on purpose? It doesn't sound HORRIBLE, but it's a bit different when mixed with other things in your tracks.

Re: Cloud Nine (Dude Remixed His Own Song Version)
In break(core) it is compression or distortion used on it (i use Trash 2) to give it a rough / raw sound.
If it happens in my house / dance tracks, which I dont do often anymore then I did something wrong but it should be mixed properly. |

Re: Cloud Nine (Dude Remixed His Own Song Version)
been listening to his work as he produces, and he has gotten better. The road still has some stretch left to it though. He definitely would benefit from a better computer. It's the only reason he can't fill the songs as much.
Other than that, I liked the darker(?) sound to the previous version, but this is still a nicer remix than most. |
