Poem: Cheap Cigarettes
Open to criticism Hope you all like it.
Cheap Cigarettes by Katrina D I saw you, raised from the dirt ground that your followers tread upon. Looking down at sins that echo through my memories. This post-apocalyptic scene, barren land stretches for miles, now stained with blood. Dust, kicked up by heavy boots that track red prints. Faces turn and look for your demented approval. Blowing smoke rings you nonchalantly hold a cheap cigarette in your left hand. Listening to screams that mean nothing to you. A grim smile stretched across your structured face, anger and pleasure residing within your squinting eyes. You went through life, abused. Now you command those you watch abuse. Condemned, you are going to die rotten through your soul. I see you, standing here, I gaze into your hollow eyes and see nightmares. You stare into mine, seeing your fear hidden deep within almost nonexistent. I know you, I see who you are, knowing the monstrous degenerate under the skin you use as shelter. |
