copyrights and stuff.
im trying to make a stepfile for a TV theme song, and was wondering, since its from a TV show would i need copyrights to get it on FFR. i know it doesnt particularly matter for my personal use, but its something the FFR people would have to consider if they wanted to put it on the site. anyways, was just wondering.

You need copyrights for everything.
INCLUDING things that are not even copyrighted. They have a personal copyright according to law. One way to avoid the copyright law is to use 10 to 15 percent of a song/picture/book. Its 100% legal, I think. I can check on that one. So, if it is a long song, you can take a minute or 2 of it, and use it. Voila. I'll check on it though.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles, by chance?
That has to be the BEST intro ever.

As much as I love Anime, there is no intro song that can beat Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

so I guess if you need permission, someone talked to the people from SOAD and got permission to use legend of zelda?

ahah, read the FAQ about that SOAD thing. and i think this guy wouldnt give half a poop about FFR playing a song thats 15 years old but i cant find a way of contacting him. i'd probably have to contact the studio that sold TMNT.
anyways, i dont know if its a very good step file, i've been playing FFR since december, but this is my first time making one. i have a 6 year backround in music but i still need to learn the script language properly. im at "leonardo leads, donatello does machines" so only about 25 seconds remain in my step file. |

I'm ashamed of you people. Please at least tell me that you don't watch the show itself!

the lyrics to the theme song is my sig. on other boards, but this board has a 255 character limit, so it doesnt fit. and yeah, i started watching the show when i was barely able to comprehend my own existence, (in 1987 i was only 3)so i probably started watching in 89, and didnt stop till 1996. now im 18 (19 in a couple months) and I miss the show like a madman. that show was a part of my life for over a 1/3rd of my life.

Fox. It's channel 9 on cable, 44 on local and I don't think it comes in with direct tv, seeing as it is a local station

The new series is ok at best. I do like the comic book style but it's too anime-ish to bring back the memories that come with watching TMNT as a kid.

i hate to say it, but tmnt was such a crappy show.. I never realized this until I was older and rewatched episodes..
for example.. one episode...the fools are chillign with april in the turtle van.. and It's april driving..with the turtles scattered about randomly.. Suddenly michealango sounds rapheal..and vice versa...shot changes..zooms in on donatello for something..back to the previous shot..leonardo is driving..and april isn't in the scene anymore.. |
