Default Most Beautiful song in all of music?

this is purely an opinion thread, please dont start to flame over what others think. Anyways there is 1 rule to answering, It has to be MODERN MUSIC, so no classical, because everyone can agree that classical is the winner in this situation.

Well my vote is Halycon - Orbital. The song is just so amazing in the first 4 minutes. I usually get reminded of it and go listen to it for a week, then forget about it for a month or so and get reminded about it again!

ive heard it like a million times and it just doesnt get old. no matter what mood im in, it will make me happy just hearing the beginning.

Everyone has heard the song too, its the song at the very end of the first Mortal Kombat movie. You know, the song that Extacy is made of? (not the drug). Anyways post your opinions, and give a description i guess.

My vote involves jazz, so I'll just assume nobody here knows it.

I would have to go for Must Be Dreaming by Frou Frou, Legend Of Max by ZZ, Simple and Clean by Utada Hikaru, or Maxi's Ending Theme for SC on Dreamcast. I cant choose there all good songs.

Classical = Mozzart , Beethoven, Bach, Chopin... that kinda thing. If we are talking classical , Fantasy Impromptu - chopin / Fur elise - Beethoven, Are the two greatest songs ever concieved by any living thing

I personally like "Jupiter" From Holsts "The Planets". Its not classical, but it is instrumental. The beginning is kind of jolly and happy as it is describing the planet Jupiter... but toward the middle it has this really nice open and airy legato section. Also, the music from "The Patriot" is amazing, as well as the music from the LOTR series. I find that a lot of soundtrack music is very moving.

I'm gonna have to say Expirimental Film by They Might Be Giants, because that song just makes me feel good, and warm inside. Don't know if that sounds gay, but the song always picks me up, and I forget whatever i'm upset about

I'm not even sure how you could think that Jimi Hendrix would be considered classical music.

What song? I've played and listened to a lot of jazz myself.

As for myself...right now I'm thinking Presto off IIDX 3rd style...it has a jazz/classical feel to it, and I enjoy it a lot.

I dunno.

Probably something by Aphex Twin. Girl Boy Song could be a contender.

Brace Yourself by µ-Ziq is a really beautiful song too.

By the way, classical is not the ubergenre most people think it is. There is just as much crap out there as with every genre; it's just that it wasn't good enough to stay popular over the years, and to be heard.

Besides, classical is outshined by other genres anyway.

Geez I have so many, here's a few:
Postal Service - Such Great Heights
Motoi Sakuraba - Shower of Blossoms
Motoi Sakuraba - Resolution(SO2)
Do As Infinity - Deep Forest
Utada Hikaru - Simple and Clean
FLARE - Mugensato(it's a song from muzie, do an artist search for FLARE and get the song with japanese text in the name)
Prefuse 73 - Detchibe

I can't pick any most beautiful sounding of those ._.

I'm bringing classical songs into this.
Classical=Moonlight Sonata (all three movements)
Modern=Polaris by aperson. It's just such an awesome song.

EDIT:I forgot Utada Hikaru - Simple and Clean. Beautiful.

moogy what did i say in the begining, keep your flames to yourself. dont start anything here. i want to hear peoples opinions, you are stating arguements. and i know a lot of classical music, and i listen to a lot more electronic / hip hop music. I still think nothing can contend with the brilliance of some of the great composers

polaris is a good song, but is it worthy of most beautiful song in musical history? dunno, ill wait till its finished to determine that. Im not a fan of anything other then 4/4 really. Some syncopated stuff is alright. but most i dont enjoy listening too, although i can appreciate it.

MAX CRUSH...

I'm joking -.-

I would like to add Insect Digetion Melancholy. Maybe not the most beautiful, but it's really enjoyable to listen to

EDIT: I changed my mind about my addition. I'd rather add Liberi Fatali. <3

Komm Süsser Tod, from the End of Evangelion.
Twelve, by Seven Nations.
FF3 Opera song.
Breakfast at Tiffany's, by The Brown Derbies/Rockapella/Moxy Fruvous (Whoever did the a capella one. Not Deep Blue Something.), even though the lyrics may pull it out of the "beautiful" category.

Oh, and Mwerp, good choice on Deep Forest.
