Raising funds for the cadet unit I command

Hey guys!

I'm the commander of a large air cadet unit in Ottawa, Canada, and we just did our biggest fundraiser of the year, which involved a 10 kilometer walk across the downtown area to support the air cadet program. The funds go directly towards running all the cool programs we have over the year, so the cadets can have a lot of fun. These activities include field training exercises, going gliding/flying, forming a cadet band, and much more!

Unfortunately though, we didn't raise as much as we'd hoped, so we might fall short of the required amount to do a lot of the activities we had planned. It's pretty costly to run a large squadron and do all of these events - we're a non-profit organization after all, and while we get a little bit of money from the government, the majority of it is raised by us.

So as commander I'm trying my hardest to raise extra funds to let the kids have the absolute funnest time possible. If anyone here would be able to donate any amount of money to help, it would be awesome (any amount at all helps so much!).I have until next Thursday to raise any funds, which I have obviously already started doing.

The Canadian Cadet program is the "largest federally-funded youth program in the country" (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Canadian_Air_Cadets) with over 23,000 youths involved in the Air Cadet program alone. It's an amazing program that fosters growth in youths in many aspects, including leadership, discipline, problem solving and more. The main barrier to this is that the program is free (great for youths though!), which means a lot of money has to be raised to cover the costs. The cadet program has affected my life so positively, and I think that by raising more money to run the program to its fullest extent, the kids that are growing up in the ranks can have a truly life-changing experience too.
