Quasar 1.5 has been destroyed.
I'm guessing you're all expecting a AAA?
No AAA. Sorry. BUT.... There's a very lovely score I DO have though.... Oompa Loompas for all, *****.

I decided to give this a shot because this is basically my song but I play like.. never
Which is basically equal to what you did. You got 1 more marvelous than I did but at the same time I FC'ed/got a higher machine score so whatever has more weight is up to the beholder. I was trying pretty hard to beat that score of mine in all honesty but after about an hour and a half of playing that song I just gave up and settled for an equal score, because I realized my situation was not going to get better as my scores on it kept getting worse and worse as my hands kept getting more and more tired. either way though, the AAA I did was a year ago so it's kind of flattering that it takes someone a year to beat my score hahah |

Arch, I started Stepmania a year ago.
What matters is how long it took you to get the score, not when you did it. I've been playing for about a year now, just so you know. That score I got was first try, by the way.

okay, and how many hours a day do you play? everyone says you play a ton, don't exaggerate to make yourself seem less nerdy. what is your musical background, what past musical experience do you have with other games/instruments?
when I was recording the quasar video, I got better scores than in the video too, and that was a year's playtime as well, in fact back then I was probably better than I am now. "first try" is just more of a warmup thing. I've gotten better scores first try than I ever did with practice. |

You're complaining he plays too much, but you said you played it for an hour and a half just to get that score that basically matches his? Nice.

I play approxximately 1 hour a day normally, sometimes more, sometimes less. Once and a while, none.
I took a break about a month or so at one point as well. I have NO musical expierience either. I never exaggerated myself, either. I've been playing DDR for awhile as well, over a year, but I barely play that. My best is a B on Legend of Maxx.

For all we know, Arch could've gotten that score on his very first try, and then spent the next 30 minutes getting scores that were even worse...

but let's crunch some numbers for a second one hour and a half, over a 6 month period. let's just be nice and say I've played 5 hours of index stepmania since I quit back in october that's 300 minutes 6 months rounds off to about 180 days which is about 1.6 minutes per day Quote:
I played stepmania about on average 15-20 minutes when I played it, but usually 15. I had very little musical experience before stepmania so I guess you're in the same boat as I was either way arguing about time is stupid because time wars always turn into who cares the least wars I wasn't trying to degrade your score anyway, I said that last line lightheartedly hence the "hahah" |

If you ask me, time spent playing shouldn't even be a factor in how good a score is. It's the score that counts... how much you have to put into the game to get it shouldn't even be relevant. So maybe someone puts less time in and has more natural talent than someone else, well hooray for them, that's great. But the focal point should be the actual accomplishments that come out of it.
