Re: all-nighter
I am drinking a giant cup of coffee. I literally cannot sleep if I have caffeine after 7PM.

Re: all-nighter
I just stayed awake 32 hours straight a week ago due to back to back Calculus and Philosophy exams that I wasn't prepared for. This is what I did..
I studied from 9pm to 5am off and on taking like 15 minute breaks to play FFR or talk to someone. Usually there should be at least ONE other crazy person/someone in a different time zone who is up. When it got really late I actually video chatted with someone for a very long time, while studying. Once it hit 6am I decided to eat/dress/bathe, then studied for a little while longer. I think it's especially important to keep food in you, because lack of sleep + hunger = deadly combination. You won't want to do ANYTHING, so make sure you're eating a little. I feel that if you can make it through the worst part of the night, (4am-6am), and then try to continue the next day as you normally would, you can easily stay up for most of the day. For me, once I'm outside (colddd) and around others I have a tendency to forget about my tiredness and just do what I normally would. |

Re: all-nighter
I can't even keep myself awake, how do you manage to actually be able to work efficiently when you're in need of sleep? I have a 2000 word Biology research assignment + a physics test + a math test TOMORROW. (not counting the mandatory piano concert I have to attend to for my piano course tonight :S) I've been trying to not procrastinate, (and I don't)but I still seem to need more time, and I can't pull all-nighters. I think I'm the who who needs help lol. anyways good luck on your exams.

Re: all-nighter
I think I drank too much coffee because I'm twitching and talking to myself. Try it.

Re: all-nighter
hahaha I have no problem pulling all-nighters. last summer and the summer before that, I decided to try staying awake for 3 days in a row. Sadly, I made it through 2 and fell asleep in the middle of the third both times... :/
In addition to all of those things that people have posted, you need to have the right mindset. If you don't believe you can do it, you can't. |

Re: all-nighter
I've literally messed up my sleep schedule so bad because of finals that it's been completely done a 180 degree flip. Last night I studied the entire night up until about 8, took a quick nap, took a final, and went back to sleep and woke up around 7 PM.
I'm now spending the majority of the night studying for my back to back anatomy and physiology finals tomorrow afternoon. I'll be camping out here as well, haha

Re: all-nighter
Just got the grade for the final I took today: 100% That means I got a perfect score this semester in this class. That's a relief. The moral to the story here, kids, is that all nighters work! But everything psychology classes have taught me argue the exact opposite.

Re: all-nighter
No dude, those usually aren't so great for extended all-nighters. The longer you use them to postpone sleep, the worse the aftereffects. I think I almost had a heart attack at one point after my third rockstar.

RIP four loko
but I guess upper/downers kill people so it's understandable. I can somehow get my body to just...stay awake without using energy drinks. Probably a good thing.

Re: all-nighter
dammit now I feel like pulling an all-nighter for no reason, I'm not exactly tired but my mom's home drunk and I'm afraid she'll start yelling **** like, "you're a loser blahblahblah" and I'll end up hating her and my night/morning will be ruined and I'll be grumpy when I get to school blah blah blah /rant

Sometimes I'll do an all-nighter without realizing the time. I'll be working on articles on Wikipedia for hours without knowing what time it is. I can't afford to do all-nighters during the Spring term. I need dem credits. |

Re: all-nighter
2/6 pages done. Should have done the research BEFORE starting the paper and should probably get off the internet, but still haven't learned.
