Hello FFR peeps, oh and pad questions
Hi, Im thesmiley, ive been on for a few weeks but didnt really get to put on a post in here till now, so hi. I play on very diff/challenging and can barely beat some master and guru songs. I play with 3 fingers and have nothing better to do then play ffr, stepmaina and "DANCE!" This brings me to my questions. Okay I'm thinking of getting a dance pad to play at home cause im also big on DDR in the arcades. Im planning to get the red ingition and the ITG PC game, and i was wondering:
1 how much of a difference is there from the home pads to the arcade, will i notice it, and is it best for someone who plays on had/expert/heavy/challenging 2 Any suggetsions for games, personally i think ITG PC is the best choice but please, guide me. *Srry if this is in the wrong forum,if it is pm ill post it somewhere else. ty |

Re: Hello FFR peeps, oh and pad questions
The difference is huge if you played DDR. DDR arcade pads are awful because of the tall brackets making you have to step on the balls of your feet while ITG lets you flat foot. Personally I would say save up for the Afterburner (metal pad). I wish I could have gotten one of those but I live in Canada and the shipping would have been incredibly high so I had to buy a cheap metal pad which I have to constantly fix as I rip out the screws from flatfooting. The Ignition pad is great for flatfooting but will probably break completely in a few months of hard playing.
ITG would be the best game to play on the PC as it is MUCH better than DDR. And in case you don't know what flatfooting is click here. It is simply only using your toes and heels (not together) to hit the arrows. Up is always toe, Down is always heel, and left and right depend on where you are facing. |

Re: Hello FFR peeps, oh and pad questions
I don't have an answer to your question - but, your question raises a question for me - I've played DDR on X-Box and have a red ignition pad (which I love - but, I'm not an expert player) -
My question is - Can I use my DDR pad to play FFR? - My son is keyboardist for Scary Kids Scaring Kids - I always wanted to play their music on DDR - And now that they have songs on FFR - |

Well, MRichards is working on a program that will let you do that, I'll this post with a link to his page. You can do it now but holding down an arrow gets you boos. The next release of the program should stop that, I guess. Edit: http://www.latent.demon.co.uk/index.html Edit2: Unfortunately, I stepped a song by them that would be super hard on a pad... (hasn't been released on ffr yet) Edit3: @OP Why not just DL Stepmania? Aren't there some good pad packs out there?

Welcome to FFR! Enjoy your stay and read the stickies...
Playing with a pad is easy, one set back is you need to use auto hot key(there are probably other ways too)... and well it can be laggy. |

Why get ITG? Get Stepmania and then contact Teyebs on AIM (dont tell him I sent you, trust me) for all the ITG sims, He'll link you up!
That simple. Plus you can play my edits =) |

Re: Hello FFR peeps, oh and pad questions
Ok, I think Ive come to a desicion. TY everyone for ur input. I'll definitly get the ITG game and im getting the igintion because a: The place im buyin from consider them "disposable" so even if it completly dies ill get another 4 free, all I need to know was it will still let me hit all the notes. Also its the only thing that lets me play everything I want to play, without buying anything new. Also i'm looking into that FFR modder that sounds awosome. Anyways if you could still tell me if I'm making the wrong desicion plz tell me. Ty everyone, i didnt know that ffr's could be so nice
