Re: Chaz's Writing Tournament! Subscriptions for the winner(s)!
Submission deadline = now.
Nothing posted after this post will be accepted. If you missed the deadline, feel free to pm it to me, I might throw you some credits just because. But you're not going to win anything here.

Results are coming. There were more books than I anticipated, and both Mal and I work full time.

Re: Chaz's Writing Tournament! Subscriptions for the winner(s)!
Well the time has come to name the winners of my little contest. Before I announce anything I want to say that both Mal and I were blown away with the caliber of the writings submitted. I'm so glad you guys came out and wowed us. It was extremely hard to narrow down the submissions so if you didn't get anything, know that everyone did very well and I thank all of you.
Now then. In first place we have a tie. Mal and I couldn't decide on who outright won this thing, so guess what, you both get 6-month subscriptions. These spectacular works are thedeprevist's "The Deprevist," and Tokzic's "Heaven." They were extremely well written, compelling, etc etc etc. They were great. In second place is Mead1's "Broadway Sestina." It's everything a great sestina should be, and I'm a sucker for sestinas, haha. Even professional poets are sometimes intimidated by a sestina's rigidity in form. It can be hard to tell a story when so many of the words are locked in place. Mead1 overcomes this and shows the form for the beauty it is. It highlights different meanings of the words and ties thoughts together while telling a lovely story. Well done. Enjoy your 3-month subscription. In third place, Mal and I couldn't agree on which of esupin's works we liked more, but agreed that you deserved a prize. "Implications" was a nice short story that draws you in to try and understand the story underneath the story. It was great. "Wake Up, Freddy" took us through a chaotic dream-world that was an absolute roller-coaster from start to finish. Just awesome. Enjoy your honorable mention prize of 3,000 credits. Prizes will be sent out shortly. Thanks again everyone and congratulations! -Chaz
