Re: Chilean Miners Being Rescued
They sent them food and entertainment and kept clean, cold air flowing down through small hole that I think was about 4 inches. The human body is more resilient than you must realize. We can adapt in dire situations for survival.

Re: Chilean Miners Being Rescued
I'm not talking about the bad conditions, I'm talking about being crushed with rocks. Being stuck underground for 2 months is terrible and all but this is sounding less and less like a tragedy.

Re: Chilean Miners Being Rescued
I'm glad they're being rescued, but who let Baby Jessica work in a mine in the first place? </jokesnoonewillget>

Re: Chilean Miners Being Rescued
Well of course not, but obviously they got trapped somehow. It seems really lucky that wherever that happened there wasn't a person there.

Re: Chilean Miners Being Rescued
It's great news. I always wonder why it took so long to save them, though.

Re: Chilean Miners Being Rescued
Reports say that the miners decided to have lunch in the emergency shaft. Smart. And lucky.
edit: Being trapped 1/2 mile below and the only way to get to them is drilling...yeah. Last edited by DotKritic; 10-13-2010 at 12:17 PM.. |

Re: Chilean Miners Being Rescued
The incident itself is unfortunate but only in hindsight can we say that it wasn't "tragic." Conditions could have been a lot worse, and the miners were able to receive a considerable amount of aid. Still sucks -- but again, it could have been a lot, lot worse. Being stuck in a mine for a couple months is definitely sucky.

Re: Chilean Miners Being Rescued
I lol'd when the guy with the mistress and the wife was up next to be freed. No one knows if the lady who was there when he came out of the capsule was his wife or mistress.
