I used to only be able to "play" songs over level 50 by button mashing with 1 hand...now I can almost FC them. Switching will definitely help you in the long run.
i can AAA 50s with one hand

limitations are a mental construct

The thing with playing one-handed is that it's really tough to improve once you hit high level songs with dense patterns. Some people choose to stick with it for the fun of it (or the challenge) though...and some people have gotten pretty darn good playing one-handed lol.

And infinity I didn't know you played with your pinky wat O.o

In My Opinion, if you really wanna be good at One-Hand and you PRACTICE ALOT you can get good at it. There really arent any limitations to be honest. Yes if you get to FGOs its tough but very doable. I mean i was at AAAing Fmos and FCing FGOs and could have gone much, much further but i decided to practice spread so i could get better faster. Although i admit when i play one hand still its ALOT more fun

I'm a solid one hander , with Flight of the Bumblebee being the only exception. I've also gotten bored and used PS3/360 controllers mapped to the guitar hero configuration and Rock Band peripherals.
