What is the absolute limit?
Yeah, since Konami completely ignored the hardcore DDR crowd it's been pretty cool to watch how good some of the PIU players have gotten. I mean, starting to watch shit like Dignity...wow.
So what do you think is the fastest/hardest song possible on a pad? I once saw a pic of someone claiming a pass on BMR's A but I think that was total bullshit. I'd place the absolute limit on feet at about Cynic's LAB. |

RE: What is the absolute limit?
lab is 180bpm, and no constant streams, but has jumps in the beginning and end... A is 191 constant stream at the end... so, A is definately harder... and, i believe a pass of A is possible. dignity is 190bpm, and its 5 notes instead of 4 on PIU, although the streams at 190 aren't that long. A is definately passable... how much past that is questionable.

BMR's A, when compared to max300 is like this...
A = 191 Max300 = 150 now, just so you don't go like "wtf... its 300bpm... its faster!" i will explain... max300 is all 8th notes. which means, you are playing it at the equivalent of 600bpm 4th notes (300 x 8/4 = 600) A is 191bpm 16th notes for most of the song (there are more arrows at this speed than there are total arrows in max300). so, it is the equivalent of 764bpm 4th notes (191 x 16/4 = 764). both LoM and Outer Limits are slower than A as well, by over 10bpm 16th notes. absolute limit? somewhere around 200bpm 16ths, like OML... that is my guess.

Pandemonium Expert on ITG is pushing it. Step jump patterns and runs for ~2 minutes at a speed faster than A. Cynic passed it first try.

pandemonium is 200bpm... is ITG 4-notes? if so, then i've played it on SM... its difficult for fingers. if it isn't 4-note... then i played some SM version of it, and its still difficult for fingers.

I know 11's are possible, I got a 15 combo in first uber rave stream (reach's version) before... and I'm nowhere near the level of the people who AAA the 10's (I B or C them)

Uber Rave is only 175 bpm... the problem with UR is that its VERY long... the endurance would be a really issue...
but, we're talking about speed. 175 is certainly doable.

WTF? Pandemonium isn't 200bpm, its around 330. And I'd say the limit is probably around 240bpm 16ths.

they are all 10s, as per DDRs scoring.
Spazz.. my bad on the pandemonium... so its 165 16ths, but there are jumps and stuff in there... its not a cake AAA on keyboard and, if Dignity can be done (195) on PIU, albiet it the streams aren't very long, i definately feel OML can be beaten... much past that is really really pushing it, IMO. 240 16ths? no way. thats max480... or, max300 on 1.6x music... on pad.

no, it wouldn't be chromer. the endurance would be a little bit of an issue... but i'm sure people like Yasu and JSB could do it in a few tries. its only 5 bpm faster than max300

Max 300 is 10 steps per second, Ska a go go is about 11.5, Pandemonium is about 12.1.
I'd say the limit is a song with 13.5 steps per second... so.... I'd say that would be something like Eggman's One More Lovely (which is 13.333 SPS). Edit: I just saw people saying OML was the limit :P so I guess I just added to the proof.

Um
Pandemonium is 11 taps a second. Theres a massive difference xD 13 taps a second is about the absolute stream limit and you'd have to bar rape like mad. I know I can't beat BMR's A on a pad with some chair rape but its possible. It just gets rediculous once the piano gets going.
