I'm beginning to think there should be a separate topic for reporting scores that are over the AAA limit, instead of each spotted case being reported as a separate bug. These aren't bugs, they're hacks.
While we're on this subject, I notice the top score in Chrono Trigger is an obvious hack: -The actual number is something over 8 million. -The last digit is a 7, which could never happen if it was a legit score. I'll even bet this isn't the first time, because I saw the exact same score as the tops on Sonic 2 in the days before I could FC it. XD |

It ought to be possible to count the number of arrows in each file, record it (there's not THAT many songs), and have the records database check each submission against the total potential score (1550x # of arrows), with requirement that the score be divisible by 5 (since you could lose some pocket change points x -5 to Boos).
I don't know how the records are implemented, but it seems like it ought to be relatively simple? Icemage |
