Will there be a way to save FFR replays as offline standalones?
So you can view your own replays in the future?
(Note you'll want to get a Flash standalone projector due to Flash 2020 for offline viewing of any flash files you have on your CPU. Hopefully this doesn't extend offline, too)

There are people making optional extensions for the future, currently I use Supernova for Chrome, It lets me watch my replays and other flash stuff but online.

Is there an offline equivalent?

Re: Will there be a way to save FFR replays as offline standalones?
If you're using R^3 engine offline using Adobe AIR, you can actually already do this as long as the Auto-Save Replays Locally setting is enabled inside of Other Options.
If that's enabled, then you will have a folder inside of your R^3 root called Replays that you can navigate to. Inside of there will be some folders that seem to be named with hashes of some sort; these represent the various engines that you have played on. Inside each folder is a list of text documents that actually collect every play you have completed - so long as the setting mentioned has been enabled. The replay name has some identification mechanisms to help you track the exact play you are looking for. The digits before the first underscore are the level ID, assuming that the level ID is numeric; this behavior seems to be correct for custom songs too. From what I've observed, if the level ID of the custom song that is played is not numeric, it seems to grab the sequential number of the level in the playlist XML (i.e. if an entry is four children inside the tag that houses all of the data, it will record with an ID of 4). The digits before the second underscore are the epoch timestamp (in milliseconds). If you have a sense of when you had a session but aren't sure what the level ID of something was, you could plug your time here, change GMT to local time, click on Human date to Timestamp and take a look at the timestamp in milliseconds field to assist you in identifying stuff. Everything after the second underscore is rudimentary and very familiar - it is your performance: perfects-goods-averages-misses-boos-max combo. Once you have found the replay that you are interested in, open the text document and copy the contents of it, then go back to the engine and press F2 to bring up the Replays menu, and click Import. Paste the contents of what was previously copied from the text document into this textbox and hit enter. Last edited by TC_Halogen; 02-20-2020 at 09:12 PM.. |

Newgrounds has already released a player to allow it's users to view flash after it's death at the end of this year.
I currently do not know anything about it.

I feel dumb, but does this save your SAVED in-profile replay,s as opposed to logging every game you play?
Does it save saved replays from the Legacy Engine?

As far as I'm aware, you cannot grab in-profile Legacy replays.
If you have R^3 replays that you want to save that exist on the site but might not exist on your engine, load the replay in browser (in a browser outside of Chrome since Flash blocking, etc) and seek to the end of the replay by clicking the very end of the song progress bar. Once you see the results screen, press F2 to bring up the Recent Game Replay screen and click Copy on the replay that's displayed. Open up a text editor of your choice and paste the contents. Then you can name it whatever you want. You'll have access to that replay in the same way as you would following the last step of the earlier instructions in this thread. |

I've added a "Replay Import Code" to all replays on the website, this can be used to save replays, or used to Import the replay into the R^3 engine using the F2 replay menu.

Sweet! This won't give me an offline replay in Flash format, but this is a start. (Thank you Velocity!)
Only thing I wonder is, does that mean you can import other peoples replays back to your own? There has to be code that will disallow you to import anyone elses replays. I don't feel like playing with the code and importing under my own account.
