I 5* it on sight read today.

Yesterday during the snowday I went to my friend's and played rock band for the first time ever

Started out on vocals and drums on hard and guitar on expert (I play GH3).

I owned vocals 'cause of the kareoke games I have ahahaha.

but drums man those are ****in' fun, hard but fun. First song, I got 49%, I think but I didn't fail so it was pretty good, second song, I had a 97 %, forget the song, but I think it was fairly easy. I was still impressed by myself haha. Bass peddle screws me over sometimes, but I got the hang of it after a couple songs.

I'm really thinking about buying rock band now, but I hear it's ****ty for ps2? If so that sucks hardcore

Then get an X-box.

Or a PS3.

EDIT: I just found a 160gig harddrive at Best Buy for the PS3. Not a 160 gig PS3 model, but an exterior harddrive... If these work, then I might pick one up and start putting more music onto my PS3. If it gets a word program, then I'll probably phase out my computer, save for a few websites that won't load on PS3.

Guys. Guys. All The Small Things. Best DLC for 2008 right there, two weeks in.

Is anyone else having as hard a time with drum rolls as I am? Like the real ones on expert, they wreck my **** every time.

[edit]
@kentbball- The career mode for PS2 sucks compared to 360/PS3. On PS360 you can go at your own pace hoppin' from place to place touring but on PS2 it's like Guitar Hero, set list of venues that you have to go through in order. ALSO downloadable songs aren't available in PS2 version, which means no All The Small Things for you.

My friend, who is obsessed with Blink 182 and Linkin Park, is buying Rock Band simply because that song is downloadable. He hates all the other music in the game.

yes, that's right, he's paying $170 for one song

in other news, i conquered my fear of reapers the other day and finally beat the damn song

Tried Next to You. 97%, failed. Fine whatever I'll beat it later. Beat Flirtin' With Disaster. Beat Tom Sawyer. Tried Won't Get Fooled Again, died immediately before the keyboard solo. I think I got 73%. Was anally double penetrated by Run to The Hills, died at 7%.

i can't tell whether to be happy there's difficult songs or sad that i'll be stuck on this tier forever

I finally got my new set of fixed drums.

I finally beat Run to the Hills hard on drums. Barely beat it, but it'll probably take me a while when I get to that song on expert to beat it.

You keep your bass pedal, as the new drum set does come with one.

The new better drums are not ultra-sensitive as they were. It won't recognize light touches, as you have to hit it harder than usual, which is good actually.

Playing expert, tier 4 songs now.

Actually, it took only a week for me, because coincidently, as soon as I sent my request, I received an email informing me that they received new Rock Band periphals to Canada on the day before, therefore everything was already waiting nearby, and the wait was short.

You might get yours quickly as well if you send in your request now. Also, I did not send my drums back until I received a new set, so you don't have to worry about scams.

w00t

Got my new Strat today , it works perfectly. I didn't really get any great scores vox+guitar but I nailed the zigzags and the descending triplet run in GGaHT (without vox), I felt so badass. I didn't get a great score because I had a crummy path and messed up earlier stuff but damn I nailed the end

Well, I'm on no crusade.

But I've 6* (easier than saying 5gold) all the songs on Expert up to Mississippi Queen. And I WILL get that.

Turn up mic sensitivity if you haven't already. I had that problem but sensitivity fixed it up in a jiffy.

What do you mean?

5 gold stars?

That's 1.5x the 5* score - not easy to do.
