Namco's Battle City for the NES?
EDIT: Also for the Famicom, Year 1985, shooter game.

I remember playing this at a friend's house a long time ago.

Looks like Final Fanstasy graphics in VII. I know it isn't because there as never a boat that looked like that in VII. The map and water, though, make it look a lot like it. If it's in the Final Fantasy series it's not VII, I'm positive of that. I've no final guess though.

But the lands look different from the last time I remember playing. In fact.. they look like the World's continents.

I think this might be Dragon Warrior V.
Top-down view RPG/Made by Enix Studios.
Released in Japan on the SNES in 1992/Had a port for the PS2 in 2004.

Not released in USA on the SNES.
