still 2 things....


it is IMPOSSIBLE for the 1st word to be hi and the 2nd word to be check... that would mean that both I and H are equal to H. not to mention the last word would start with CC and end with I. Not to mention you can't have H equal to H. Do you have any idea how to create a cryptogram? I'd strongly suggest completely re-doing your mental... making it longer, having it use standard english words only (rarer words are fine), not giving any hints.... and actually giving it a point value.

Also, /100 is stupid for Motherload. Way back in the day I beat that game and had a score well over 2 billion. /100 with a 1000 cap would be a max score at 100,000... The rarest minerals (which aren't that rare when you get down really really low) are worth 5 million by themselves, IIRC. Not to mention, there is a boss that gives retarded points for beating.

Your tournament still needs serious work.

Score is from December 2005. And, it only shows as 2.1xx billion because that was the LARGE INT max in the database. My score was actually around 4 billion, IIRC.

Ugh, you are thinking to much into it. I do not know what algorithm for cryptograms you know, but it will not help you. He gave you two words, take away the other letters and find a two letter word then a eight letter word.

Also for motherload, was that the same version? There are two different versions... The version you played was the one you "could" cheat on.

how can i take away other letters when there are 2 different letters representing 1 letter. that nonsense goes against so many rules of cryptograms it makes my head hurt. it looks like he just banged his keyboard for random letters and expects people to figure it out from that.... the whole point of a cryptogram is that all instances of 1 letter are equal to 1 other real letter, with no duplicates. a 1:1 ratio.

Frankly, I gave my warning against running a tournament like this to the lot of you at the end of Jon's tournament.... it wasn't heeded, and the results are apparent right away.

There are only so many options for two letter words. These letters are left:

You cannot tell me that it's impossible. The second word is mostly referred to as two words. Also the version you played on for Motherload is different...

whatever. i figured out what it was.... and I still firmly contend that it's 110% retarded. you can't just go and put random letters together and expect people to guess what you're asking. especially when you have ee at the start of the word and the 2 are different letters.

i don't understand it at all.... and the only way i solved it was just thinking about what darkness would want me to do. had nothing at all to do with the letters given. just 2/8 fit with what he'd ask. And i was right.

if you don't want to actually solve my puzzle... copy it, go to google and type in "cryptogram solver", click the 1st result that comes up, paste the text into the box, then click solve.

it'll only return 1 result. which is correct.


and tophius... do you agree at how incredibly easy the 1000 point req is to reach? WAY too low. it should be /1,000,000 with a cap at 1000. At least that makes it challenging... 4-5 hours worth of work if you know what you're doing.


edit: also... no idea if the version i played is the "cheating" or non-cheating... but i think you can safely assume that i didn't cheat when i did that back in 12/05.

Yes I will do better. My mom was yelling because apparently 2 hours on the computer is too much and I need to read more and blah blah blah and how my grades were going down. I will do a lot better. Sorry.
